Water filter replacement

The water filter (LT 500P) on my refrigerator (LG LSC26905TT) needs replacement. I am unsure as to how to remove it from it's fitting in the fridge. The LG owners manual has no information on how to remove it. The filter will move about a quarter turn before reaching a stop in both the clockwise and counter clockwise directions leading me to believe that it is not on a threaded track. I obviously do not want to break the filter or its housing so any input would be greatly appreciated.

Fm, it's not threaded, turn it counter clockwise until it stops (should hear a click), then pull it out. Push the new one in all the way and turn it clockwise, you should hear it snap in. You may have to use a little force. If you are still having trouble, give them a call at 1-877-714-7481. Catriver.

LG side by side model# lsc26905tt, won't dispense water. I can hear the pump trying to pull water but the water is sitting in water line just outside of filter on the outside of fridge.

Sounds like the dual solenoid water control vave. Located in the back it will have two wire connectors going to solenoids. They are replaced as a pair and most local appliance dealers have universal replacemants. http://www.lg.com/us/refrigerators/lg-LSC26905TT-side-by-side-refrigerator

I have a GE Profile Arctica. I just replaced the water filter and can get no water from it. I goes into the new filter, but stops there. Please advise....

have you purges the new filter of air for at least 3 minutes? did you remove the protective plastic cover covering the "O"-ring on the filter inlet end?

When you put in a new water filter on you should run the water for about 5 min.Hope this helps

I changed the water filter and now the water is not working

For LG LSC26905:

If you replaced the water filter cartridge on the dispenser due to a filter replacement indicator appeared on the display, press and hold the lock button more than 3 seconds to reset the filter timer.

Make sure the water supply line is open.

How do i remove the water filter

The filter will come out attached to the cover .. look inside the cavity . there should be a space there for the filter .. the ones at the top of the fridge are quite small compared to the ones that go at the bottom on some fridges. Most appliance or building supply stores will have replacement filters on hand .. have your make and model number to get the correct replacement., or the old filter ..

Filter bypass for lsc26905TT

locate water filter bracket(normally in fridge compartment), then use screwdriver to remove from the frame. You will see two plastic pipes connected to this bracket. one will be water in and the other water out. pull the two off the bracket and join them together. (be inventive). Connect your RO system to the main inlet after original water supply is removed. Remember, your "filter to be replaced" light will still flash after a period as the fridge has its own software, counting depressions for cartridge replacement. (you would painstakingly have to reset.}

Using without water filter

The effort it would take to eliminate filter would be too much. Just leave filter in place. If new house filter is working right you should never have to replace fridge filter and your water will be double-filtered :)
