Question about Jenn-Air JCD2389G Side by Side Refrigerator
There is water leaking from the freezer side of our model JCD2389GT side by side Jenn Air refrigerator. This happens everyday at about the same time.
If you are getting water leakage from the freezer at the approx same time everyday, it would make sense that you have a clogged or frozen drain tube in the back of the freezer. Most fridges defrost themselves every 12 or 24 hours, depending on the model timer or controller in it. If you empty the freezer, take out the shelves, and pull the rear wall out (usually 4 or six screws that are in 2 rows down each side) and look in the very bottom under the coils. There should be a hole there going to the drain tray. if that hole is frozen over, or there is food stuck in it then pour warm water over and into it untill it flows through and that should cure your problem. Good luck!

Got a couple of questions before we can really say much Does the refrigerator/freezer appear to be running as normal? is it perhaps always running at the time the water leaks for longer or more noisily than normal. Is the temperature of the freezer as normal? is there a particularly cold patch in the refrigerator , probably at the back or on the freezer side near the bottom? Where exactly is the water leaking from? and is there water collecting inside? Does the door seal properly at the base where the water seems to be coming from? Is there another major appliance with a heavy current draw that always goes on at the same sort of time? I'm thinking a water boiler, or aircon/heater, or the oven etc. Please post back, and we can start running through possible solutions :)

also have you fully defrosted it recently?
:)
Any info?
:)
Rotu has it right - only thing to add is that if you have somewhere you can stick all your food for half a day or so, then unplug it and do a full defrost - hopefully cures the problem without undoing anything.
if you have no other place to put all your frozen stuff, then see if you can run the fridge/freezer down to empty first - it doesn't sound like anything in the workings of the fridge will suffer from a week or two before fixing it.
Hope this sorts it :)

Hello There Noggin....
I replied earlier today but it looks like you didn't get the message..
We have not fully defrosted the unit recently.
Operation appears normal..in all aspects.
Temps OK all around.
There is water/ice accumulating on botton section of freezer.
Water appears to be leaking from beneath freezer door gasket.
All door gaskets appear to be in good order
We have a swamp cooler that operates 24/7.. so moisture in our home much higher than typical Nevada home.
Problem started about three weeks ago when outdoor temps went above 100.

Hello Rotu and Noggin...
Problem solved...
Removed the panel in the freezer section and there was an ice block(age) in the drain on the bottom section....used hot water and a hair dryer to heat things up a bit and in less than twenty minutes the problem was solved..
Many thanks for your help.
Ronnie
