Hi,
I have a brand new SD750 which I bought a week ago and now it won't turn on. The camera did not fall and at first I thought it was a dead battery, but after recharging the battery, the problem continues.
The last thing I did was view some previous pictures. I left the camera in a car in 90 degree weather for about 90 minutes after that and ever since, it just hasn't worked.
I've tried reseating the battery and memory card, all to no avail. I plan on taking into a camera shop to see if they can help and possibly try putting in a new battery.
Any ideas?
-Chris
I think the heat did it. If you read the instruction book, it most likely has a page that says no excessive heat or cold.
If you bought it a week ago, take it back to the dealer for warranty repair.

The camera is obviously faulty and needs to be returned to the manufacturer or the store for replacement or repair. The warranty will cover any cost so will be done free of charge.
You have every right to be angry as it is brand new.
If this is the case, the camera might have internal damage. Might be better to send it back to Canon delears/shop for repair. Please try below link Canon
Hi there please reset the camera 1st . THen pair your battery with your camera. Go in menu then battery type option. Select the type of a battery. After that save the setting. Now try . If you face the same problem then the camera internal power transformer are damaged or week. So you need to replace that transformer after that it will start work properly. You use that camera so long, that's why there is a chance of that damaged. Thanks if its helpful then rating me.
I had a Cannon EasyShare CX7000 many years ago, had the same problem exactly, Canon cameras are not that durable when it comes to dropping it, but I have a Cannon Powershot SD1000 and I have dropped it numerous times and it still functions like it's new. three words REPLACE YOUR CAMERA. oh, and there is no reset button, you are out of luck
The part is probably defective and needs to be replaced, or its possible if the camera was dropped it needs to be unplugged and then plugged back in... maybe it's just not making full contact.
If you need the camera repaired, thats what we do, we are a digital camera repair business. Just let us know, we can check it out for you. If you want to buy just the part and try it yourself feel free to contact me and I will see if I can buy just that small piece or not.
hi emery,I guess the batteries are drained out in the camera. So just take out the memory card if u r using any.....and then try replacing the batteries.Turn ON the camera only with the batteries in.Check if its working fine.....If yes then use a different card.If no then plz get back to me.
The camera is only about 170$ brand new right now. So it is definetly gonna cost more to fix being that your overseas. Much easier to replace it with a comparable one. Thanks, Lee
