I have a Sony Cyber shot DSC-W5O, was using a Sony Memory stick Pro Duel, was given a HP Photosmart a510 printer , which is saying that memory stick isnt recognised. It states it will take: CompactFlash type 1 & 2 Memory Sticks Microdrive MultimediaCard Secure Digital SmartMedia xD-Picture Card. When i checked what Memory cards were compatible with the Cyber shot, none of the above were listed, is this correct? I thought it would take most types, does this mean i wont be able to use my printer with this camera?
Memory stick pro duo is unfortunately not back compatible with plain Memory stick, so you wont be able to use that stick with both the camera and the printer. Here's the manual for the printer if you need it - you are correct with your list of compatible stuff; http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00702867.pdf you are also correct about the cyber shot, it wont take non "pro" or "duo" sticks check the user guide page 95 downloadable from this link; http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=DSCW50®ion_id=1 However, the camera and printer are both "Pict Bridge" capable, which means you can connect them together directly with a USB cable. Check the camera manual page 73 and 74 for instructions and a good description of the cable, page 25 of the printer manual for essentially the same info. You could also download the photos to your computer and either print from there or save them on a printer compatible type of memory stick/card. Unfortunately without a computer, neither are possible. If you want to order a usb cable direct from Sony if you don't have one; http://servicesales.sel.sony.com/web/productSearch.do?searchOperation=modelSearch&searchText=DSCW50 (unfortunately it is $38)!!!!! I think most camera stores would stock it also. If you want more info on memory sticks and what the differences are; http://www.memorystick.com/en/ms/variety.html Hope this helps :)

That's right. If the printer doesn't use the existing stick, you can't do a direct print. Do it thru the computer: plug the stick into the pc and then print the photos out to the printer.

Hi,
In DSCT1 Camera, the C:13:01 error message indicates a Self diagnostic message. Each of these codes indicates the symptoms and resolutions of the Camera. In C:13:01, the issue is with the Memory Stick being used in the Camera.
The Symptoms are:
Memory Stick Pro Duo 4GB is not compatible with the DSCF707 Camera. Maximum capacity supported by the Camera is up to 128MB. Please try using a MS with 128 MB and check if it works. A dedicated adapter (MSAC-M2) must be attached to use Memory Stick Duo or MagicGate Memory Stick Duo media.
Thanks.
