The back is resting on some slots, try lifting the plate out of these slots.

Starting the dishwashing cycle, extreme loud noise when dishwasher starts pumping water. Loud noise stays during pumping cycle. Dishes are clean and dry and no water in tub when cycle finishes.

If your unit is a Kenmore or Whirlpool (there are several other brands that use many of the same parts) and is less than 6 years old then it may pay to first check and clean out the chopper assembly for hard debris. If that doesn't do it then you may want to consider replacing the motor and circulation pump as a complete unit for between $160 and $200. Not too difficult a task for a moderately handy guy with some tools. Maybe 2 hrs. The bearing itself is not serviceable I understand, and would be considerably more difficult. Over six years old then you can buy a great quality machine for about $500.

Sudden loud vibration from the door of my Whirlpool dishwasher. Replacing the part didn't help.

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Drain Pump If the dishwasher is loud during operation, the drain pump might be defective or might have some debris in it. This is a common problem.
Circulation Pump If the dishwasher is loud during operation, and the noise is a continuous drone similar in speed to the circulation pump sound, it's likely that the circulation pump motor bearings have failed. Once this happens the circulation pump will have to be replaced, the bearings are not repairable.

Drain Impeller If the dishwasher is loud during operation, the drain impeller might be broken, or there might be debris in the pump. Generally, to gain access to the pump the top of the pump housing will have to be removed.

Pump and Motor Assembly If the dishwasher is loud the motor bearings, drain impeller or wash impeller might have worn out. All three of these components are part of the pump and motor assembly. It may be possible to replace one of the impellers, but the motor bearings cannot be repaired. In that case the pump and motor assembly will need to be replaced.

Wash Impeller The wash impeller is a small, plastic blade. The motor spins the impeller forcing water through the spray arms to clean the dishes. If one or more blades has broken off of the impeller the dishwasher is loud. The impeller can also scrape against the pump housing if it is damaged, warped or bent.

Circulation and Drain Pump Motor If the dishwasher is loud during operation, and the noise is a continuous drone similar in speed to the motor sound, it's likely that the circulation and drain pump motor bearings have failed. Once this happens the motor will have to be replaced, the bearings are not repairable.

Water Inlet Valve The water inlet valve is an electrically controlled water valve. When it is new, the water inlet valve is very quiet. Over time, the diaphragm inside the valve deteriorates and deforms. This deformation interacts with the water rushing in and can cause a loud vibration, buzzing, squealing or other noises. If the dishwasher is loud during the filling cycle, replacing the water inlet valve may solve the problem.

Does not drain,

HI,
check the following to address this issue.

1. Clogged drain line or water pump
Check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine).

2. Water Pump
If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.

**The most common issue will be an obstructed hose or, line...

We mistakenly ran our 2 year old kitchenaid through a cycle

It's possible. A pump like that should never be run dry, especially if it ran dry for an extended period of time. Does the noise go away as more water moves through the system? If not absent then less?

Will not agitate or spin, makes loud noise during those cycles

Sounds like coupling gears between transmission and motor... they did away with the belt and went direct drive with coupling gears. It can pump water out but nothing else. water pump is mounted to front of motor is why it will pump water out.
