Off balance??? When I turn the washer on to a cycle it does the first initial turn one way then a turn the other way and then just stops. At first I thought it just wouldn't drain so I cleaned the pump filter, which was extremely dirty. But it still does the same thing and also doesn't drain. If it's not the pump filter, is it off balance? If it is off balance, how do I fix this? sslinkard

I unscrewed the bottom panel. It has three screws at the bottom to do this. There is a white circular lid in the middle. This is the pump filter. unscrew it. Warning! there will be a lot of water!!!. Then you can clean it out.

Can I ask you how you cleaned the pump filter? I had the exact same issue with my machine (GCVH6260HWW).

Why does my washer gets off balance during the spin cycle and how to repair it

A QUICK FIX IS TO OPEN THE DOOR TO STOP WASHER, THEN RE-DISTRIBUTE THE LOAD SO IT BALANCES OUT IN THE SPIN CYCLE. OR, REMOVE SOME OF THE CLOTHES, IT COULD HAVE TO MANY IN IT.

Washing machine shuts off before cycle is finished now it will not last one min. on before it shuts off...what to do?

We have a front-loading LG washer. Today, I took a look at it when it was beginning the spin cycle because it sounded a bit different. I noticed that it was beginning to spin and would stop because [I believe] it was detecting a strong off-balance. It would then try to spin in the opposite direction and the same happened. After two more attempts, it automatically shut off with no warning nor error. We set the washer to wash and spin again and I began to work on balancing it. After adjusting the feet and waiting for the spin cycle again, it continued successfully because of the reduced off-balance. I'm not sure if there are other reasons that would cause the washer to turn off. This is the only one I have come across so far.

Washer stops several times in the middle of cycle

possibly it could be your un-balance switch getting very sensitive to any type of movement of the machine, normally they only actuate during the spin cycle when you have a very off balanced load of clothes

The machine stops after the wash cycle and won't finish.

The code is UE

load too small.
• Load is out of balance.
• The washer has an imbalance
detection and correction
system. If individual heavy
articles are loaded (bath
mat, bath robe, etc.) and the
imbalance is too great, the
washer will make several
attempts to restart the spin
cycle. If an imbalance is still
detected, the washer will stop
and the error code will be
displayed.
• Add 1 or 2 similar items to help balance the load.
• Rearrange items to help balance the load.

Will not spin or agitate

Get the model number. It may have an off balance switch that is stuck. Try moving agitator like its off balance and then turn on.

The rinse cycle no longer works

Likely the balance sensor is failed - or the motor controller itself.

Pounding noise after wash and final spin

  • The spin bearing or basket drive may be worn or seized. These components allow the inner tub to spin freely inside the outer tub. When this is the problem, you usually hear a loud sound during the spin cycle. Call a qualified appliance repair technician.

It may be a out of balance alarm during a spin cycle. Re-balance the clothes and hit start.
