One handset does not ring when receiving an in coming call. How can I fix it?One handset does not ring when receiving an in coming call. How can I fix it?
It may have lost the link to the base unit. Make a note of all the personal details, stored number, etc., then reset the handset. Do this by pressing the spanner button until the display changes, then press and hold the 'R' (delete) button until the handset resets. You'll have to set it up again, but at least it will link. Spanner then 1 for ringtone, CID for volume. Spanner then 2 for keypad bleep, 1=off, 2=on. both cases press spanner to confirm changes.
I have no ringing tone (incoming calls) on handset 1 which fits to base station. I have not lost contact with base station hence your remedy is not applicable, all I wish to know is how to get the incoming ring tone back.

I assumed you are talking about your wireless phone. Are you worried about handset ringing or the incoming call ring? 1. If you want to check your handset ringing, you check it by calling from your base to your handset via INTERCOM. If it rings, then your hanset ringing is working. The trunk or the Tel Company dial tone is the one not going in to your phone. Hope this helps. Best regards.
Here some solutions for your problem + a link to the user manual.
**Selecting the Ring Tone and Volume Your phone has five different ringer tone/volume combinations you can choose from. To select the ringer: 1) With the phone in standby, press [vol/ / ] or [vol/ / ]. 2) The phone will sound the different ring tones at different volumes. To turn the ringer off, select RINGER OFF. 3) When the phone sounds the ring tone and volume you wish to use, press [end].
**Temporarily Mute Ringer If the handset is off the base while an incoming call is ringing, simply press [end] to mute the incoming ring. The ringer will sound with the next incoming call. Note: You can only mute the handset ringer if the handset is off the base when the phone starts ringing. Adjusting the Earpiece.
**Here is also a link to the phone manual http://www.uniden.com/pdf/EXI4561om.pdf
Adjusting the Ringer Volume (From the Uniden manual)
You can choose from four ringer volume settings (off, low, medium, and high) separately on each handset or the base.
With the phone in standby, press ArrowUp or Arrow Down on the handset or VOLUME + or VOLUME - on the base. The handset or base sounds the ringer at that level.
Use Arrow Up on the handset or VOLUME + on the base to make the ringer volume louder.
Use Arrow Down on the handset or VOLUME - on the base to make it softer or turn it completely off.
When you hear the ringer volume level you want to use, stop pressing keys.
The handset or base will use the new ringer volume starting with the next incoming call.
If you set the ringer volume to Off, the handset or base won’t ring.
Other handsets or base will ring according to their individual settings.
You need to reset the main base and make sure the ringer volume is turned all the way up. Disconnect the power from the back of the main base, press and hold find hs key while reconnecting power until you hear long beep. Should reset base and handset.
For the handset, you can use the menu button to check the HS Setup settings. For the answering machine, you may have pressed the side button that turns it off. It would say "off" on the lcd if you did that. According to the manual (I just bought one of these).
Similar issue - brand new phone - but incoming calls (skype or
landline) would ring - and then nothing, and outgoing calls the handset
would just reset.
The handset would just lose signal constantly (less than 2 meters from the base station).
The phone shipped with the latest software - but eventually I
reinstalled it - no change, then de-registered the handset, powered everything down and re-registered the
handset and that *seems* to have done it .....
So
1 - reflash / re-install latest software from philips website (even if the phone already has the same version)
2 - de-register handset (follow instructions)
3 - unplug base station and remove batteries from handset
4 - turn on base station, put batteries in handset
5 - re register handset (follow instructions in manual)
