TV making a chirping sound when plugged into a power outlet. There was a power outage and now the tv will do nothing but chirp. I did open it up to see if any fuses were blown and the only one I could find was ok. Nothing on the board looked burnt up. The tv is only two years old and I was wondering if I took it somewhere, how much do these repairs usually cost. I don't want some joker trying to rip me off. Thanks a lot.

If one of the secondary supplies is shorted, the power supply will "chirp" when plugged in. This is the power supply's way of protecting itself and this usually happens when the horizontal output transistor is shorted. If this set was in my shop and needed a new output transistor, a fair price would be right around $100.
