I ordered this software because i had used it before. When i got it, it showed it was for Windows 95/98. I have XP. I tried using the program compatability wizard, but this didn't fix the problem. The Install Screen comes up, but when you click Install Application, the hourglass appears, and then goes away with no further action Is there something i can do to fix this? If not, Can you reccomend a software for printing CD Labels & Jewel Case Inserts that will use the DataBecker Media I have on hand.
System restore will not do what your asking.
However there is a way but you will need a Installation cd Assume you have Windows XP
Then you need to borrow or buy a Windows XP Home Edition or Pro
You can buy one used from Ebay.
There are two options !.Repair install this will save all files/data on your hard drive.
Follow these instructions to Repair install.
Boot the computer using the XP CD.
You may need to change the boot order in the system BIOS so the CD boots before the hard drive.
Check your system documentation for steps to access the BIOS and change the boot order.
When you see the "Welcome To Setup" screen, you will see the options below
This portion of the Setup program prepares Microsoft
Windows XP to run on your computer:
To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER.
To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R.
To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.
Press Enter to start the Windows Setup.
Do not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R", (you Do Not want to load Recovery Console).
I repeat, do not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R".
Accept the License Agreement and Windows will search for existing Windows installations.
Select the XP installation you want to repair from the list and press R to start the repair.
If Repair is not one of the options, END setup.
After the reboot
Setup will copy the necessary files to the hard drive and reboot.
Do not press any key to boot from CD when the message appears.
Setup will continue as if it were doing a clean install, but your applications and settings will remain intact.
2. If you want to do a clean install that will completely wipe your hard drive clean then follow the instructions from this site http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/win...
You will then need to reload all Microsoft Windows Updates and find all other drivers and software from http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/c...
Then wham bam you should be back in business.
hope this helps
Press F8 to continue past the Licensing Agreement.
The next screen should display a prompt asking you if you wish to repair an existing installation. Select your Windows installation (most likely it is the only one) and press R.
This will begin the repair and reinstallation of Windows. The installation will copy files to the hard drive, reboot the system, and then proceed just like a normal installation. Follow the prompts just as you normally would any normal Windows installation.
When the installation completes, you should still be able to access all of your documents and installed programs.
