I've used the Quantaray PZ-1 DSZ on my Nikon N80 film camera and had no problems. I would like to use it on my digital Nikon D60.

There is no problem with the trigger voltage, which I assume is your primary concern. You may not get all of the features you would with a Nikon flash, but you should be able to use it with the D60 just as you use it with the N80.

I have a Quantaray Flash unit PZ-1 DSZ the foot which attaches it too the camera has broken off. Can this be repaired?

if the contacts are on that piece you can not do anything else but changing the case for it ..and I dont think this is something easy to do ...probably you will have to buy a second hand one for parts..and do it ..
But i f it is just broke ..and the contacts are still intact..try to use a high quality glue ..and repair it ...and if you are not very fun about the looks it will work ,,

Will the PZ-1 DSZ fire remotely as a slave unit?

Go to photo.net for a more comprehensive answer on this unit. But you should have a "slave" setting. May be called an optical trigger. You will need another flash to set it off though.

DOES THIS FLASH WORK ON CANON REBEL XSI?

Yes and no. It will work fine as a manual flash, putting the burden of figuring out correct exposure on your shoulders. It will work fine in the automatic modes on a Nikon camera.

Quantaray makes a Canon version of the flash which will work in the automatic modes on the Rebel XSi.

Will my quantaray tech-10 NF AF zoom lens (for me

Yes, with caveats. The autofocus won't work on D40/D60/D3000/D5000. The metering may not work in all modes on all cameras. Since you didn't specify which camera, I can't give you a better answer than that.

I have 30-year-old Nikon lenses working fine on my D90, but without metering. And the old lenses date before the invention of autofocus.

Is a flash compatible with my camera?

Most Canon Digital SLRs use the ETTL metering system. I can't find any decent specs or manuals on the net about this flash whether its ETTL or TTL. I could find models that are specific to Canon and Nikon, so check that first too.

Also be wary of the flashes trigger voltage. A voltage too high might fry the camera when its mounted on the hotshoe, so see if you can find it in the manual.

You can always use this flash off camera in full manual mode. To find out more go to www.strobist.com or go to the Strobist Group on www.flickr.com

Will not fire any more

Suggestion: Before to spend any money in this direction, try to clean the electric contacts and be sure that batteries are fresh and fully charged (a voltmeter can help).

Quantaray QDC-NK i TTL Digital Flash Module

The Quantaray Digital NK Module has a small tab on the side of the raised boss that the 8 pins sit on that prevents it from mounting on the QTB-9500A. It's intentional- the NK Digital Module is made for newer Quantaray flashes only. You'll need the older-style AF NK Module to attach to the QTB-9500A.

Quantaray PZ-1 DSZ and Sony alpha 100

Having the same problem with the Quantaray 7500A and my Sony Alpha 200. I either have to go to full manual or overexposed. I've sent off a few emails to Ritz but still haven't gotten a reply.
