I have a canon pixma mp830, mac osx. all of a sudden the sheet feeder has stopped working. i've restarted the machine, taken the paper out, etc. the sound that indicates it's trying to get the paper into the line is heard, but nothing happens. don't see anything moving, don't know if one should is there a manual feed slot? can't find it in manual. thanks, roger
Which feeder? for the oringinal copy? or the blank paper. Either way it sounds like the rubber feed rollers need to be cleaned. With a rag and some rubbing alcohol clean all rubber rollers.

After about 12 month of service the paper feeder for white paper stopped working. No printing anymore.
But: when I run the self diagnosis progam the feeder seems to work.
The paper feed makes a clicking sound when switched on as if there is a loose part. When trying to copy, the feed accepts about a quarter of the page but does not make any copy. It works perfectly when placing a sheet for copying on to the platen.
