Kitchenaid delay start

Setting the timer doesn't start the oven, and if I set for 'timed cooking' it starts cooking from now for a fixed amount of time. I want to delay the start of cooking (eg 4 hrs in the future) and then have the stove cook for 1hr... so that when I get home with the kids there is something hot to eat! (I appreciate not everything is safe to leave in the oven for the day, but I am not a total rookie and will not be doing fish like this!) Thank you!

SOURCE: simpson 2001 series upright electric stove oven does not get hot only gets warm

It could be the oven element (behind the cover plate in the back of the oven), or the fan not blowing the heat into the oven.

SOURCE: my oven takes ages to cook things am i missing

We had this problem; Your thermostat is probably broken. To test this theory, buy an oven thermometer and test how accurate the oven is. My bet is you will find this to be off. Fix it now, otherwise, it might lead to other issues.

How do i fix the timer for delayed start

Strangely in all of this, u don't tell the oven when to start - it works it out itself!
First u need to set the length of cooking time, eg 2hrs.
Press the cooktime button(2nd one along), THEN use the +/- buttons to set the display to 2.00.
THEN press the readytime button (3rd one), and use the +/- buttons to set the end time.eg 1730hrs
The display should then revert to the present time.
THEN turn the oven control to the required temperature.
The oven will switch on at 1530 hrs.
If u were to press the cooktime button ONCE WHILST the oven was on - it will display the cooktime remaining.
AT 1730, the oven will switch off and the alarm will sound
To switch off the alarm, press the minuteminder button - first one - looks like a bell, THEN
REMEMBER to cancel the programme by pressing buttons 2 and 3 TOGETHER, otherwise it will do it again tomorrow!
HOPE THIS HELPS
I would suggest first.trying it when you're at home all the time the oven is on.

I've read the "getting started" instructions regarding the auto matic switch on and it doesn't seem to make sense. I can get it to turn off automatically but not on. Sorry for being dim.

Firstly, make sure the actual time is correct. Set the oven (if it's a double oven the clock function will only work on the main oven) to the setting and temp required. The first timer setting you put in is the cooking duration (not the start time) ie if it's a casserole that you want on low for a couple of hours, adjust the first setting to 2:00, when you press for the next setting you will see the the timer has already added 2hrs to the current time, adjust this to the time you want the item to finish (eg, You want it ready for 6pm, adjust to 18:00). Don't press anything else, give it a second or two and the oven will switch off. The oven will switch on 2hrs (or whatever time you have set) before the end time. Whilst the oven is waiting to switch back on, on some models the cooling fan will run continually, this is normal. If you are a little slow enter the times the clock will time ut and return to the actual time.
Hope this helps

I have a stoves 720ef oven and cannot get rid of the auto

The handbook says:-
To cancel the automatic setting and return the oven to manual operation, press the cook time and ready time buttons simultaneously. These are the second and third buttons from the left. If you have done that and it is not working, try turning the complete oven off for awhile - say 30 mins and turning back on. If this still doesn't work then it may be that the timer/clock has gone faulty.

How to set oven timer on a GE electric stove

that is not a problem. I copied the instructions straight from the manual which you can also review by clicking here.
    Using the clock and timer.
To Set the Clock The clock must be set to the correct time of day for the automatic oven timing functions to work properly. The time of day cannot be changed during a timed baking or self-cleaning cycle. Press the CLOCK pad. Press the HOUR and MIN + or – pads to set the time of day. Press the START pad. Make sure the clock is set to the correct time of day. To Set the Timer Press the KITCHEN TIMER ON/OFF pad. Press the HOUR and MIN + or – pads until the amount of time you want shows in the display. The maximum time you can enter in minutes is 59. Cooking times more than 59 minutes should be changed to hours and minutes. For example, enter 90 minutes as 1 hour, 30 minutes. If you make a mistake, press KITCHEN TIMER ON/OFF and begin again. Press the START pad. After pressing the START pad, SET disappears; this tells you the time is counting down, although the display does not change until one minute has passed. Seconds will not be shown in the display until the last minute is counting down. When the timer reaches :00, the control will beep 3 times followed by one beep every 6 seconds until the KITCHEN TIMER ON/OFF pad is pressed. The 6-second tone can be canceled by following the steps in the Special features of your oven control section under Tones at the End of a Timed Cycle. The timer is a minute timer only. The timer does not control oven operations. The maximum setting on the timer is 9 hours and 59 minutes. To Reset the Timer If the display is still showing the time remaining, you may change it by pressing the KITCHEN TIMER ON/OFF pad, then press the HOUR and MIN + or – pads until the time you want appears in the display. If the remaining time is not in the display (clock, delay start or cooking time are in the display), recall the remaining time by pressing the KITCHEN TIMER ON/OFF pad and then pressing the HOUR and MIN + or – pads to enter the new time you want. To Cancel the Timer Press KITCHEN TIMER ON/OFF pad twice.

If you need further assistance follow up with a comment and please let me know and i will be glad to assist you further. Thanks, Midwest-tek
