I have a whirlpool fridge model WRN43NWB6 where the compressor keeps running and it does not keep things completely frozen can you advise me what the problem might be please, Tonnie

The flow tubes are blocked.You will need to defrost the unit,unplug and pull off as much ice as possible.You can put pans of hot water in the freezer.

the sound your hearing is most likely the starter relay for your compressor. this is a common failure part for this model whirlpool. if the unit is out of warranty you can purchase part# 8201786 from any local appliance parts deealer, online at numerous parts suppliers or the easiest in my opinion sears partsdirect.com. the kit is a plug and play part and has very good instructions so that you could replace it yourself. the part should be less than 65-70 dollars. 
I do reccomend that you unplug the refrig to prevent damage to your compressor.

your relay and overload on side of compressor is bad.you can replace with original parts or a 3-n-1 hard to start.

SOURCE: The strip between freezer and fridge is very hot

sounds as if you either need to clean the coils under the unit,they are clogged and unable to disapate correct amount of heat, or your fan mounted behind the unit, next tothe compressor has failed..YOUR UNIT IS WORKING EXTRA HARD TO GET RID OF HEAT.check those 2 places
