I have 2 P4 Asus P4B motherboards and the issues I am having is that it wont read harddrives or allow you to load an operating system on them. When I scub the HD's it works great, but when I go to load the XP disk, it freezes when gets to the point of " installing windows"......I have tried flashing the bios and resetting and upgrading the bios with floppy and it wont even take the floppy. Is there a security thing I am missing?....I have disabled the virus in bios....tried all dif HD's, which I can load anything on to HD's from any other pc.......tried dif roms......dif ram....nothing seems to work for getting it to load an OS.
Please help if you can

Re: ASUS P4B motherboard problems
I had issues with this motherboard reading the 320gb drive i bought until i flashed it with the 2003 Beta version of the bios. Then i went into the bios and let it auto detect the drive, it takes a few mins sometimes and i had to go to the drive boot order too to get it to detect, it would say none, and i would go back to the drive section and set it to auto etc. But when it did find it, i took down they cylander, head numbers etc it auto found and put in the values manually. Then I would set it to throughly check at boot up, so it does the ram test a bunch of times also hitting pause right at ram check delays it enough too to read the drive. I have no idea why this is, but thats how i got it working. I just leave the machine on now.
