Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
Infocus screenplay 5700 I've had this product for about 8 years now, all the sudden it doesn't turn on or respond in anyway when I click the power button, its plugged in but it won't respond
Most probable cause is a faulty power supply. The capacitors inside tend to overheat and burn out. They can be tested with ohmmeter for 25-30 ohms if you can get power supply open. Most people change entire supply. You can test power from supply to main circuit board with a voltmeter.
If you have a fuse, check to see if it is good. It will probably be next to power supply.
Last possible cause could be faulty control board usually due to faulty capacitors or resistors.

We can fix this. I believe you are handy enough to fix the power supply of this masterpiece.
I had 100% the same problem and finally figured it out. The problem is with one of the capacitors, and after lots of trial and error, and asking for advice, here it is: The capacitor is "C16" - a small blue electrolytic - 100uf 16v. It is in the center of the power supply board partially hidden by a black heat sink and the large silver chunk of metal.
Swapped for a 25v 100uf I had lying around and she works like a charm now.
Here's how it looked like on mine:
