Re: how do I clean the fan asembly on a jenn air jgc8536.
It will be due to the lack of lubricant inside the fan and a part of the cylinder can be broken due to wear and tear u open that assembly and verify it if everything ok put a little grease or oil and close it

What color is your cook-top? The stainless model may have actual steel knobs.. End your model number with "s" when looking for the parts.. If you have stainless and they are still plastic "stainless look" knobs then call the manufacturer as they would be the only ones to be able to determine if there is a metal knob available for your unit. Good luck!
One burner doesn't consistently light. Igniter sparks but not the same as the other - "good" burners spark at top of igniter and moves around to light, "bad" burner sparks toward the bottom and doesn't move much. I can use the burner by lighting with a match and it works fine. Have tried cleaning with a toothbrush without much success
Throw the burners in a large garbage bag and spray it with easy off oven cleaner. Seal the bag for a day and then rinse everything off. Clean the aluminum parts with a nice wire brush from the hardware store.
open your cabniet up under the unit you will have to disconnect the venting in this will give you access to the blower section also make sure the filter is not hitting it inside they usally install a screen to prevent this but maybe yours is missing
