I am trying to install "Home Budget for Dummies" on Vista. I get the following error: "Requires Help System 4.73 or higher." I tried using the compatability wizard and using Win2000 and got the "HBFD.EXE has stopped working" error, so I dowloaded the MDAC file from microsoft as suggested, to no avail.

Install MDAC 2.8. (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=6c050fe3-c795-4b7d-b037-185d0506396c&DisplayLang=en) There's no need to uninstall anything - just put it straight over the top of the current MDAC install. good luck

I have a program(taskhost.exe) which I can't close, and is preventing me from logging off, or shut down my PC

Taskhost.exe is part of windows. killing shouldn't affect anything critical. It's function is to run script that need to run at certaint times. low priority stuff. Recomend you run antivirus and anti malware software. also run windows update. those 3 things tend to find the majority of issues. then open your control panel and look through the add programs section and see if anything has been installed that you don't want. Many time programs install other programs that will cause your computer to have issues.

However, it is only available as part of the full software installation package named hp_LJ_P2015_Full_Solution_AMWE.exe on hp.com . Once the files are extracted to a folder just open the util folder then the ccc folder and the scrubber.exe file will be visible.

My dell all in one AI920 does not scan. the button is not respondiong neither can I get it to respond from the desk top.I keep getting a message which says dlbkaiiox.exe-entry point not found. how can i...

That message is telling you that you have a software problem, try removing the associated program that goes with that exe, and re-install/repair install it again. To find the program search for that exe and it should be in the programs directory.

I cant find hpc20155.xml

This is direct from the HP website. some files were renamed... it works!
ISSUE: During the LaserJet P2015 Series USB installation, the following error message is displayed: 'hpc20155.xml' on HP LaserJet P2015 Series CD is needed SOLUTION: The HP LaserJet P2015 EWS driver on Microsoft Windows Update and Windows Market Place Web sites is newer than the driver that is included on the product CD that shipped with the printer. Because of this. the Microsoft Windows (Found New Hardware Wizard) will install the driver from the web. Some file names are inconsistent between driver version 1.0.0.12 and version 1.0.0.10, including the hpc20155.xml file, hence the attempt for the driver to search for the hpc20155.xml file will fail, and prompts the error message. To resolve this issue perform the following:
  1. Click the Browse button on the error message.
  2. Browse through the CD to Drivers -> windows 2000_XP .

Aioc.exe

What you need to change is your screen resolution to either 800 x 600 or to 1024 x 768 (in your desktop settings)
What is happening is that your Lexmark all-in-one center doesn't think your monitor can handle the program (or something to that effect).
You will NOT have to restart your computer either.
Just restart your Lexmark All-In-One program and you can start scanning.

Qx5 is not responding

the microscope may be trying to draw too much current from your USB ports, your computer will disable the device if it does this. When this happens one of the easiest (and cheapest) solutions is to acquire a Powered USB Hub (with it's own Plug top power supply). This should aleviate any extraneous current draw to the Power supply.
