My Panasonic AG-DVC30 has everything installed and battery fully charged along with the DV tape installed I press record and it tells me "dv external disconnect" what gives? what good is the battery then? can you clarify?
On the cassette shell is a small sliding door that prevents recording, move it to the record position.
The idea is to protect a valuable tape from being recorded over.
The playback head is dirty. Insert a brand new tape into the drive and perform a record, through the entire tape until it reaches the end. Then play a pre-recorded tape.
If recently recorded plays back ok, and there's no warning about low rf or head clogging problems,it seems to be electronic problem in vtr board, but usually is head problem, which is not so expensive.
Your playback heads might be clogged. I am not sure if this camera with give you a RF warning if your record heads get clogged. Also most professional machines drums are rated at 1000 - 1500 hours before they need to be replaced. If you are at 500 and never cleaned the heads it is time to. Run a cleaning tape a few times.
had the same problem, it seems to do fine without a tape in it :so I took the tape in and out a few times and I guess the alighnment was better so it works for Now..So Give it a try
Hello!
If the recorded tapes playback ok on the camera and not ok on another devices, you need to readjust the playback on this camera using a tape which playbacks fine on the other devices.
This means that is a small difference on the tape transport.
So when the supply and takeup post rollers readjusted and the audio and video playback are good, then your camera is fine.
I will try that. Thanks for your help.
