Will not pick up a local channel

I have an apex dt502 converter box that will not pick up a local channel, tried it on two different tv sets with numerous scans and no results. Another local channel comes in perfect.

SOURCE: Black box appears in TV screen

The problem with the black box happened to me. I had pushed the subtitle button on my remote by mistake. Interestingly enough, as soon as I pushed the SUBTITLE key again, on the remote, the black boxes disappeared.

It also says CC which means closed captioned-- So the bottom on my remote is Subtitle, and then on the subtitle button is cc...

SOURCE: cannot find channel 3 or 4 on old Panasonic TV CT 20S2S

Channel 3 or 4 is what you select on your actual television. using the TV remote press 03 or 04 ( whatever the converter box output is switched to on the back.

if you cannot get the tv to select 3 or 4 ( not programmed try searching for channels on the convertor box and after it finishes auto program the TV set.

For a more detailed specific answer please list the make and model of both the TV and the digital converter box

I use an RCA box. Never had any problem.
How far away are the television broadcast antennas?
If they are farther than 40 miles, that may be the problem.

Apex dt502 digital tv remote was lost

Go to Remotes.com - Or - you can call 1-800- remotes to get a replacement. The new recommended replacement remote sells for $19.95 and has a large red mute button on it. The old one is no longer available unless you wish to do a good web search or try ebay.
