I have my laptop for a long time. Suddenly it stopped working and most of the time I can't even both it. I called sony support and they could not help me fix it over the phone and said I would have to send it for repair. The shipment and the repair will cost me a lot of money, I was wondering if there is a simple fix for this problem if not I would rather buy a new laptop and not fix this old one. Any help will be highly appreciated!
Hi Lisa, I am not an expert and I am also new at this site. But I believe I have a solution for you! I had this problem before with a similar model. It is usually a problem with the memory chip or memory slot: 1. Remove one of the memory chip 2. replace it with a sony compatible memory chip. * not all memory chips works with sony so you have to make sure! If it is the slot: 1. compare it with the working slot to see if there is any difference. 2. If there is a bended solder try to bend it back to the correct position. 3. If you can't find the problem you might want to buy a larger memory chip and work with only one slot. Good luck
