Having problem with slimline Playstation 2 console

This means the laser of the playstation 2 has problems, and is going bad. This is very common with playstation 2's. If possible you will need to return it to whomever / wherever you purchased the unit. If you bought it on ebay you can file a paypal claim stating the item is defective. If you bought it new then the best thing that I would recommend would be to contact Sony and have them fix the problem. Since it is not even six months old they should be able to fix it for free. The issue that you are having is that the motor and/or cd-rom/dvd-rom drive for your ps2 has gone bad which has actually occurred with a lot of slimline playstation 2's.

well its a bad port it happend to my gamecube and it fryed 3 controller ports and i think you need to just replace the whole controller port or buy a new playstation slim

If you do not know the Parental Control password on your PS2 try the known defaults of 1111 and 7444.

maybe it ws defective

to behonest id take it back as if you mess with it you will lose your waraty

If it is still under warranty, I suggest you have sony repair or replace it. That is the easiest fix.

make sure it's the right controller.
