SOURCE: Koss Ks4102 video problem

You have chosen the progressive scan option. In this option you will not get a composite video out to your TV using a single cable. you need to switch off this option by connecting the DVD player using three single cables namely Rr, Yy, Bb. this is possible only if you have this input option on your Tv. once you do this you will be able to see the display correctly and do the changes of switching off the progressive option. refer to the manual it is explained

SOURCE: Audio from tv

It sounds like you have the red, white rca cables hooked from the back of the tv to the red, white input on the stereo or the same connection from you hd sat box or hd cablebox. In order to get the same sound quality from tv service as you do on dvd is to run a fiber optic cable or digital coax audio cable from you hd sat box or hd cablebox to your stereo which means no red, white rca cables at all, take them out. Also once you do that you must be on a hd channel to get equal sound quality of a dvd movie. I know on some hd cable or hd sat boxes you have to go in and set them up to dolby digital as well after you hook it up the way I was explaining. Try this and I hope this is helpful.

SOURCE: KS3102 Digital Optical Input Problem

What I did was turn on the system, don't put in any dvd in, or select an output 1 or 2. Press Menu on the remote, the display on the system display, not on tv should show Speaker, and other options. Select Input, select the one you want to use as the Optical Sound by press enter, then it will ask you on the system display input or optical sound input. Select optical input and press enter it will then say saved. You can then hit exit til goes back to where the display is back on main screen, or just wait til it exit by itself.

I lost my manual. How can I get a replacement

The manual for the 5192 is not available even via Koss' web site.
The manual for the KS4192 should be very similar:

Hooked up how to what model of TV? Try a different video source or video input on the TV.

TV Hookup

The TV is NOT a source of high quality sound.

For the best serious audio I would recommend drawing the audio-only digital feed from the Cable Box via its highest quality audio output. Then turn the TV's volume down. Also run the vanilla RCA stereo audio pair from the cable box to the TV in case you just want to check the weather.

hook up computer straight to t.v with hdmi cable. then get two aux cables (usually red and white) and run them straight from tv audio OUTPUT to audio INPUT on bose system. them anytime you want surround sound even when your watching tv just press the aux button on the bose system controller. should be perfect.

Hook up

I assume you want your audio to go to the Koss.

The audio connectors are pretty much standard; red & white. They should be the same on both units.

The red=right channel and white=left.
The proper output from the TV is probably marked 'Line out' and 'Line in' on the Koss.
These are normally an auxiliary input and may be marked either 'Line' or 'Aux' on your input selector.

You may have gotten some of these cables with your Koss and if not, they are available wherever TV/stereo stuff is sold.

Can TV Sound Come thru Sound System Speakers

if you have a digital rec the red and white output goes into the surround sound input, if you have basic cable, then you need to use the red and white output on your vcr to go into the surround sound input. just make sure to note which input you are using on the surround sound and switch it to that.
