Question about Toshiba 43H70 43" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

TV is on, but not displaying picture.

When I press the power button, the TV will turn on, but it will not display anything. The power button will blink on and off, however, and the TV is on. At first, I would hit the area around the power button and the picture would work. But now, it wont work at all and the light just blinks on and off.

This unit is known for bad relay contacts. It may be that tapping in-on-or around the relay at Sr41 might restore the pic temporarily. If so, replace it - p/n#23146558.. If not, you may have some poor solder joints that will take a little bit more investigating and possibly shop time if you're not up to the task.

How do i get my hdmi to work for my ps3 system

Note: How to reset video output settings
If you are attempting to change to an HDMI cable from a different video cable or if the video output settings do not match those required for the display in use, the screen may stay black. If the screen stays black for more than 30 seconds, you may need to reset the video output settings of the PS3.

To reset video output settings:

  1. Turn the PS3 system off by holding the Power button on the front of the console till you see the power light turn red.
  2. Then hold the power button on the front of the console for at least five seconds until you hear a second beep to turn the system on again. The video output settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolution.

Minimum Requirements

  • PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system
  • SIXAXISTM wireless controller (and USB cable)
  • AC power cord
  • HDMI cable1 (sold separately)
  • TV or display monitor with HDMI port and capable of displaying picture in HD resolution
  • Updated system software installed on your PS3
Visit PS3 System Software Update to download and install the most recent version.
  • TV "Input" or "Video" channel for the HDMI port
You need to know the TV "Input" or "Video" channel for the HDMI port on your TV. For instance, if your TV has multiple "Input" or "Video" channels, (i.e., "Input 1", "Input 2", "Input 3", etc.), you will need to toggle through each "Input" channel on your TV until you find the correct channel that displays the HDMI picture. This is important to remember, especially if you do not see the HDMI picture after you connect the cable and configure the PS3 settings. SAMSUNG LE32R73BDX/XEU TV Digital TV Stuck on bbc1, no access to DTV menu to reset or retune. Sometimes picture is frozen, always it shows BBC banner and Mono. Standby - Info - menu - Mute - Power is not...

just spoke to Samsung support and it turns out that the freeview tuner had froze and needed resetting. To do this put TV on standby and then push in series these buttons on the remote: 'info, menu, mute, power' the TV will then turn itself on and display a menu. Press the 'down arrow' untill you've highlighted option 12 - 'reset' and then press the 'right arrow' to enter the option. TV will turn off and when you turn back on it will start in 'plug & play' mode as if new. Set the time and country options and then it will perform a complete scan. I've just retuned mine and all back to normal. Hoorah!!!! :-)

Try pressing the TV/Video button. The problem could be that the TV is set to an input with no source.
