When I press the power button, the TV will turn on, but it will not display anything. The power button will blink on and off, however, and the TV is on. At first, I would hit the area around the power button and the picture would work. But now, it wont work at all and the light just blinks on and off.

This unit is known for bad relay contacts. It may be that tapping in-on-or around the relay at Sr41 might restore the pic temporarily. If so, replace it - p/n#23146558.. If not, you may have some poor solder joints that will take a little bit more investigating and possibly shop time if you're not up to the task.

Note: How to reset video output settings
If you are attempting to change to an HDMI cable from a different video cable or if the video output settings do not match those required for the display in use, the screen may stay black. To reset video output settings:
Turn the PS3 system off by holding the Power button on the front of the console till you see the power light turn red.
Then hold the power button on the front of the console for at least five seconds until you hear a second beep to turn the system on again. The video output settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolution.

TV "Input" or "Video" channel for the HDMI port
You need to know the TV "Input" or "Video" channel for the HDMI port on your TV. For instance, if your TV has multiple "Input" or "Video" channels, (i.e., "Input 1", "Input 2", "Input 3", etc.), you will need to toggle through each "Input" channel on your TV until you find the correct channel that displays the HDMI picture. This is important to remember, especially if you do not see the HDMI picture after you connect the cable and configure the PS3 settings. Please refer to the TV instruction manual for more information.

To turn the display on:
1. If the power light on the front of the display is off, turn on the power switch on the bottom
of the display.
2. Press the POWER button.
To turn the display off:
1. Press the POWER button.
2. If the display will be unused for an extended period of time, turn off the power switch on the
bottom of the display and disconnect the power.
just spoke to Samsung support and it turns out that the freeview tuner had froze and needed resetting. To do this put TV on standby and then push in series these buttons on the remote: 'info, menu, mute, power' the TV will then turn itself on and display a menu. Press the 'down arrow' untill you've highlighted option 12 - 'reset' and then press the 'right arrow' to enter the option. TV will turn off and when you turn back on it will start in 'plug & play' mode as if new. Set the time and country options and then it will perform a complete scan. I've just retuned mine and all back to normal. Hoorah!!!! :-)
Had the same thing today. Iwas playing with the auto demonstration of on screen displays. Press and hold the power button (5 seconds) on the TV. The auto display will play. Press the power button again (TV will go off). Turn power on again. you should now have the picture back
