My rear project Toshiba has a great picture. At 4:3 the picture is fine but when I expand to widescreen 2 lines remain where the 4:3 would normally end. I hope this makes sense.
Those lines are burned into the picture tubes most likely. to know for sure remove the screen and look into the tubes and see if the lines are on the face of the picture tubes. if so then theres no economical fix.

Hmmmm... well do you know how some channels are not in full screen? There are grey borders on each side? That is where the lines are if you expand or zoom the picture. I hope this is more information. Thank you.
i cleaned my screen with windex and now I have a black streak at the bottom of the screen. It appeared right after I cleaned it. Will this go away? The streak is behind the glass and I don't know how to remove the screen please help sandy
