I have 2 of the same fans-Hampton Bay windward 2. It worked fine but now won't go on with the remote controls. It's not the batteries. The remote control says its on. Do you think it could be the remote control box inside the fan. One fan is not even two years old and it should not break already.
Could be the wires inside the fan you have to check them out.

It's probably the electronics inside the fan. They may need replacing. http://www.ceiling-fans-n-more.com/hampton-bay-ceiling-fan-parts.php

SOURCE: Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan Windward II
There is a 4 position (dip) switch on both the fan housing and the remote. Make sure these switches are set exactly the same and the remote will control the light and fan separately. If not, the remote may be getting interference on the preset frequency - try CHANGING the dip switches to a different setting and the remote should work.

SOURCE: lost screws to attach fan blades on ceiling fan
This is not a 'promo' for Home Depot but you will find the screws there that you need.
You will need 15 screws, with an 'unfinished' appearance, for the attachment of the five blades to the arms, and 10 screws that have a smooth rounded finish to attach the arms to the motor housing. If they do not have it in stock they can order ot for you.
If you have an electrical fan store in your area you should be able to find the items there as well.
If you have an old discarded ceiling fan, take the screws out of it and try them on your current fan, they should work.
Good luck. :)

Same problem. So, if it's the electronics in the fan itself (likely - I can hear the fan click), what next? Take it down and haul to Home Depot... ?
