Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P100 Digital Camera

Problem . I switch the camera on ok, full battery, so nothing wrong there. Its something i cannot get off the LCD display. The screen is black and it displays the words, USB Mode Normal .... (exactly like that). Then at the bottom it displays 'Switch on Menu' . I then press the menu button, and onto the screen comes 'USB Connect'. I then press the control button and onto the screen for a brief second comes the word 'Access' . Then it shows the words .... USB Connect then underneath that is a box with 3 options, PictBridge PTP Normal This is what happens when i press the control button on ... Normal - goes back to the original screen what i described above. PTP - puts me onto a folder option which i cannot open. PictBridge - tells me to connect to printer. ---------------------------------------------------------- Thats the problem as best i could describe it. It all adds up to a camera that won't work and i would be very happy if you could help me out on this one . THANKS IN ADVANCE !!! Ste .

If you open the part that gives you access to the battery and the memory stick you'll see a small button that says 'reset'. I'm actually not sure what it resets, but you could give that a try.

After assembly camera lcd displey is still off

Perhaps in disassembly pressure on the LCD cracked the crystal display with will cause a rich black screen. If the camera has both internal and LCD displays, perhaps the switch is set to the eyepiece? My lumix will shut off the LCD and turn on the eyepiece to save battery. Check wires to that switch.

Canon G5 Powershot LCD screen is black and will not show images in any setting.

Are you sure the battery is ok? Did you press the button display (bottom right nest to the display) several times? Next, how long did you not use this camera? If it was for long, something inside could be corroded. Did you recently drop the camera? Something more serious could be wrong. I'm not sure you can make any picture, because you don't need the screen to make a picture. You then could look is a proper picture is on the memory card. If the rest of the camera is working ok the viewing must work also. Check is the off button is moving correct. (And not blocked) Resetting could be an option, but you need the display to answer the question. This is in the user manual.

Lcd screen is black can't take new pictures

Hi Guys, My A620 is almost out of warranty :-{ and the lcd went blank. Could still take pictures and view them, just couldn't see them on the lcd screen. After looking through all of these trouble shooting pages, someone on another page suggested to reset settings, manual pg 28. Or on the camera switch on, Menu, go into tools scroll down till you reach rest all and ok. Doesn't clear pics already on there, and mine now works fine :-) phew. Good luck xx
