I have the same problem. My wap wasn't working so I turned the phone off , but it wouldn't completely switch off and I was left with a slight glow on the phone. Nothing else worked so I removed the battery and then put it back in. The phone wouldn't turn back on at all and there was a red light flashing a few times in the infrared bit on the side of the phone. Any advice on what to do?

  • jassicchew Jun 20, 2008

I am having the same problem, I bought it recently, when I clicked the "executor", the flash of the screen appeared, then the phone switched off after 2 seconds. I wonder how it happened. I tried to take out my battery immediately after trying few times to turn my phone on, but it seems dead. I hope someone would give me a reason for that. Can I do anything with that?

I had the prob where the infared light flashes for 5 sec and stops when i try to turn it on. some of these ideas brought forth to help solve the solution has relaxed me alot. i was about to throw out my k800i out of the 2nd storey of my home and hope it will hit the concrete and disintergrate. i might leave the battery out for 3 hours and see if it helps. i can't update the software if the handset does not turn on.

The switch is not working properly this red light indicated the stand by mode or error. Have a specialist look the phone over.

Do never charge a phone when it dies on you, expesh the sony erricson ones!

the problem with mine the first time is it suddenly died on me an a red flash kept appearing beside the "c" key and after alot of attempts to turn it on the red flash would no longer flash!
so then i tried to charge it and was told that that was the worse thing to do, as it can blow the fuse in the electric board inside the phone.

that is when i had to sadly take it to the sony erricson store :(

then the other day i dropped it in cereal and it had a series of choosing when to come on for a few hours,
it would come on,
then turn itself off,
then eventually come on but the picture would be distorted.
and you can see how it would go untill after a while it wouldnt turn on and the red flashing returned.

so i resorted to charging it and completely forgot what i'd been told.

so now, ive taken the memory card out, the battery but some how cant manage to take out the sim :S

and i'm going to leave it like that for a couple of hours.

if you have any help attall for my phone to be fixed then PLEASE email me

[email protected]

hope it helped!

xx

Man this is an awesome mobile, the only problem is the joystick .a
And regarding your problem with the phone is, your mobile has a virus threat it would be effecting your mobiles hardware also, i suggest you to flash your mobile once .And flashing is nothing but it would be removing all the data which is present in the mobile.

In my opinion, and experience, the best options would be to first simply try charging the phone overnight. You can also use a firmware flashing service from the likes of http://www.wotanserver.com or http://www.davinciteam.com if this does not resolve your problem.

Flashing your phone with a new firmware can be risky if not done exactly as they tell you.

SEUS will not work to resolve the issue as it does not technically flash the phone. It only updates. And if your phone already has the latest firmware, it will do absolutely nothing.

Also, the answer from trogg07 is known to work on occasion.

1 redlight flashes clearly red at bottom right hand side of the power ring, and 2 other dim red lights are flashing, only the 1 in the bottom right is bright though.it happened 2weeks ago but i tryed it...

Do you get an error message on your tv screen? 1 flashing red light means there is a hardware failure such as your DVD drive hard drive, dashboard error ect. Not much can be done about this issue besides having microsoft fix it.

K800i will not turn on infa red light is on when charging

I had the same issue.
It started where the phone went in a loop of restarting, getting a white screen, then restarting again etc...
I resolved this by downloading wontan server client ( http://www.wotanserver.com/en/ ). You do need to purchase 1 credit in order to get an account. Follow the instructions (however, instead of holding down teh C button as instructed, try holding down keys 2&5 together) for this and it will resolve the phone not turning on/red LED issue.
I wouldnt recommend using the software for any other use as it can be, or it could damage the phone if not used correctly, but for this method, quite fool proof really.
I still had the phone restarting issue after this, however, i'm hoping to run the sony ericsson software to update the phone and hope that that works :)

Good luck. Hope this helps.
