I have a TDK 420N DVD Burner and Have stored data on DVDs with it before. It didn't come with any software. I bought it on ebay. I'm still using it today, but I can't store data on dvds. It's burns cd-roms all day long, and I can play DVD movies using windows media player. It reads my DVDs with backed up files on them, but when I try to burn a DVD using Ahead Nero The DVD drive doesn't even show up. I think I solved the problem before when I installed Power DVD, but I no longer have that software. I can't find any DVD drivers for the TDK 420N

Re: TDK DVD Rom
Heres the website. You can also try upgrading the firmware for your burner. It might help with other DVD software packages.

You often get this with no brand or unknow brand dvds, also some DVD writer can develope a probem either with DVD-r or DVD+r, even if it is supposed to be dvd + - rw . Try using good brand DVD -R. when you find a brand that is fine use only that one. I am sorry about wasting the 100 dvds pack give them away as a present or selll on ebay, after having same problems a couple of times, on my home DVD RW I use only TDK, Philips, Verbatim or Sony DVDs.
