Question about Olympus FE-110 Digital Camera

Fault Display Hello everyone, The problem with my camera is that display doesn't work. Everything else seems to be all right. In fact I can take pictures and upload them in my computer. The screen however is half black and half white and has some almost vertical lines that look like scratches. As a matter of fact the menu or photos are not displayed in the screen and I can't see what I'm shooting. I have never dropped it so I'm sure that the screen is not broken. What I suspect is that it got wet during a storm while it was in my bag. Any ideas how much the replacement of display will possibly cost? Olympus charges for the estimation of cost if I decide that I don't want to repair it. Is there any chance of replacing it on my own, provided that I found a spare part? Many thanks

Your chances are very slim- As you discovered Charges are made for inspection only -it is some ones time after all- and parts are not usually available. Best bet - Dont waste time and money in shipping, inspection and return. Cut your losses and get a new camera.

Hello. Do not know the model of your camera, but sounds like system internal error. Try to download the firmware for your model at kodak website listed under support. Be sure to get only the file for your model camera !!!!!

Lcd display only works flat against camera

The ribbon wire from the display to the system board has cracked causing intermittent operation when moved. Depending on the wire configuration to the screen will decide if the screen must be replaced or the ribbon wire.

I dropped my Nikon D 60 and now I get nothing on the LED display. Everything else seems to work.

The display circuitry is compromised, and possibly the screen. I suggest a camera technician to check out your system with an estimate.

Hello,

the problem is from the display IC of your unit. You nee to change the display IC for your unit to display again.

If you cannot do it yourself, maybe you should consult an expert to help you have it fixed.

CCD FAILURE ! Call HP they may or may not repair it FREE but other camera manufacturers are doing it FREE repairs bcoz it is considered as manufac fault in CCD units Pls RATE ME WELL !
