Hi I've just bought an Acer Aspire and i'm having a few issues with the intergrated webcam and MSN. When I bought the comp last week (15/01/09) the webcam worked perfectly with MSN now all of a sudden its stopped working and I get an error saying to check if its running in another program. Now I can open the webcam program perfectly to take photos but it just doesnt seem to want to work with MSN now.
I've re-installed drivers and MSN but with no change!
Any help would be appreciated.
Your cam has to be setup on msn as well After you start Windows Live Messenger,
expand the view by clicking on the square
on top left next to the red X.
Then on the Windows Live messenger window on the
right side, click on “ “Show Menus.” And then click
on “Show the Menu Bar”.
Next go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on Action.
Go to “TOOLS” and click “Audio and Video Setting
and follow the instructions.

So it seems that there are compatibility problems with the webcam and the latest version of MSN. I've downgraded to v8.1...although not as attractive my webcam now works perfectly!!
when i click tools and audio and video setting it said we are unable to run audio and video setup???
