Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo L7310GW laptop: I've been trying to charge
the battery(which I've never used) since about a week. No programs
running overnight, off except for power, little orange "charging" light
is on but flashes (slowly). Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Completely drain the battery so the computer wont even switch on and charge it over night. If its still not working after that then you need to get a new battery.
OK, This might work - its called the ATX reset, its for when static electricity causes hardware not to function correctly
1. Remove all USB devices such as printers, mp3 players etc etc.
2. Remove the power-cable and the battery
3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds
4. Put the power-cable back in but not the battery and none the USB devices.
5. Turn the computer on
6. When the computer loads insert the battery if the computers not registering it, it most likely need repairing.

Thanks anyway, but the battery WAS empty--almost never
been used. Problem may be a connection in the motherboard,
I'm told.
