Connect iPod to sony STR DH-100

There is no direct way to connect an iPod to the Sony STR-DH100. You'll need to find the appropriate digital media port adapter for your iPod; they are no longer manufactured for sale.

The TDM-iP50 is compatible with the iPod Touch, iPod 4th generation and iPod 5th generation among others. See page 3 of the manual for the full list of compatible gadgets. The manual is currently available here: https://docs.sony.com/release/TDMIP50_US_ES_FR.pdf . Amazon lists some used models for sale. There is also the TDM-iP1 and TDM-iP10 which are compatible with some iPod models (4th, 5th generation). Again Amazon lists some used models of the TDM-iP10 for sale.

I can't tell you if any of the used digital media port adapters will work with your iPod version. I hope this information helps.

Sony STR-D715

I have the same exact recover right now as we speak. Try unplugging it for 30 sec then plug it back in. If not either you have a pinched wire or wires are touching somewhere or you turned it up to loud and it went into protect to "protect" the speakers, check connections and go from there

How do i connect an ipod to my sony str-de310 receiver

Connecting to a home stereo
  1. For most home stereo systems, connect iPod to your amplifier's sound input using a 3.5 mm mini stereo to RCA adapter cable.
  2. Adjust the volume on iPod to less than half to prevent overdriving your amplifier. Adjust the listening volume using your stereo's controls.

Note: Depending on your stereo, iPod may need to be set higher than half in order to get a proper volume through external speakers.

Any input as AUX , DVD or Tape will work fine ..whichever you connect.and/or available...But please do not ever use the "Turntable" input...make sure volume of IPOD is half way open as listening earphones not max..good luck..

Sony STR-D715 Protect Mode

Hello,
This is a common problem...
It is in fact a bad power-amp module.
I have repaired quite a few of these receivers by replacing it.
The module is inexpensive. I Googled the Part number and found several sources for it.

Good luck!

Sony str-d715 flasses protector

Protet mode is a special diagnostic mode that starts when a fault is detected.

When in protection mode the unit is prevented from starting by protection circuit, so to prevent further damage.

Check the speakers and speakers wiring, a contact in speaker wires, or faulty speakers can send the unit in protection.

Try unplugging power cable for one hour or so. then connect cable back and see if you get rid of protect state. Sometimes accumulation of electrostatic charges inside circuit capacitors can kick in protect mode. In that case unplugging the unit from main for some times can get rid of electrostatic charges, and reset circuits by draining power completely.
If that was the problem, you will not get Protect when plugging back power cable.

If you do all the above and still get Protect, then there is a real fault.

In that case the unit may be disassembled and tested to find the fault.

If that is the case I suggest contacting the manufacturer at the number listed on the owners manual, or asking a quote on repair to a local technician.
