Question about Frigidaire PLHS269ZC Side by Side Refrigerator
Hi our fridge freezer has stopped cooling down after it was subject to fire smoke damage, it did'nt go near the fire but did get covered in soot, we've cleaned it all down, plugged it in and all sounds well bet both the fridge or freezer wont cool down. please help :-/ don't fancy buying a new one :-)
Assuming that the motor is running, my best guess would be that the condenser (a large grid of thin piping) was covered in soot, and should be THOUROUGHLY cleaned, preferably with compressed air.... The condenser will either be underneath the unit, behind a small panel in the front bottom of the unit, or at the back behind a cover at the bottom of the fridge which runs the whoile width. Make sure the fan at the back near the compressor is also running....if the condenser fan is not running when the compressor is running, it won't cool. If the condenser is excessively dirty, it won't cool!
