The laser/lens. you may need to have it cleaned and or adjusted. the worse thing would be if you had to replace it that would cost you about $60.

If this is only happening to a certain game, the game is either dirty or damaged. If this error appears for every game, however, then your DSi is either dirty or damaged. Try looking at the little shiny gold part on the game, that is where the data is read from. Compare it to a working game, and see if it looks damaged. If it does, you'll just have to re-buy the game. If it is the DSi's problem, you're pretty much out of luck. Try blowing hard into the chamber where you insert the game, and see if that fixes it. Also, look for any debris that might have fallen in. If that doesn't work, unfortunately you're more than likely just going to have to buy a new DSi.
The laser lens is either dirty or bad. You can clean the lens with a "Q" tip and alcohol if it's dirty. However, if it's bad, then it'll need to be replaced. The part is around $35.00.
xbox's are a bit tricky concerning dirty discs....even if it doesn't look dirty, oir have any scratches (scratches going from middle to the edge are ok, as long as they are not gouges)
just make sure to really clean your disc's. clean only from the middle hole to the outer edge, never clean the disc in a circular motion....
it means the one that wont read is scratched, dirty or defective, my advice is to clean it if its dirty, get a cd repair kit if its scratched or take it back if its defective.
