Thanks for your response. Actually had to go to the Panasonic website to find it. Turns out the Panasonic p/n is D4DDF1R50001. Sounds like a few others have had similar problems.

See if you can find it on this link; http://www.rtie.com/ptc/ptcindex.htm seems to be the most comprehensive and has pictures of all types so you might be able to recognise it. hope this helps - please ask again if not - there are some other manufacturers/ distributors out there also :)

We have a panasonic ct-36d31e that has developed a degaussing problem now. Rainbow colors - magnets haven't helped neither has power drill placed near the screen. Is there a degauss button on this model...

Hi Tracy,
Unfortunately magnets etc will most likely do all but improve the problem. When a T.V set is turned on it automatically degausses (demagnetises) the tube. However, if the screen does not degauss, its most likely a small electronic component in the degaussing circuit which has burnt out. This component is usually black in color, is rectangular and about the size of of the T.V. screen displayed alongside your question. Its inexpensive to replace(less than $5) and can be found at most electronic component stores.
Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
Best wishes,
Graemevm

Panasonic model CT-36SL13G TV

Your problem is most likely the thermistor , or degausser, is going bad. It is a little black box with pins and says D1R5M on it. It can be found by following the wire from the degaussing coil around the picture tube. The location number is CF803( i think)the Panasonic partnumber is D4DF1R50001. Also, I believe your fuse is 6.3A not 3.6A.

Tv color

The solder joints on the degaussing thermistor have cracked or the thermistor itself has opened, and the CRT is heavily gaussed. You can degauss (demagnetize) the picture tube and the colors should return to normal, but the thermister should be resoldered or replaced.
