  • piedmonte Jan 21, 2009

I should have been more specific. By , "maintenance items", I meant parts and supplies other than invovled in a routine oil change.

In Oct. 2006, Charge for Service Menu 8027 CC was $157, Charge for 15,000 Service Kit was $72. Charge for 9161 Menu was $43.

    Please advise further.

Maintenance Minder 6 Scheduled Maintenance
Recommended service for your 2006 Honda Ridgeline:

Replace VTM-4 rear differential fluid: Driving in mountainous areas at very low vehicle speeds or trailer towing results in higher level of mechanical (shear) stress to fluid or frequently fully loaded. This requires differential fluid changes more frequently than recommended by the Maintenance Minder. If you regularly drive your vehicle under these conditions, have the differential fluid changed at 7,500 miles (12,000 km), then every 15,000 miles (24,000 km).

What does service c mean in a mercedes r class

It means that it is time for the car to receive it's scheduled maintenance. Different Maintenances - A - B - C - cover different items. Maintenence is usually alternating, 13k miles, C Maintenance, 26k miles A maintenace, 39k miles C Maintenace again etc...

The C Maintence tells you and your service center what services to perform. Your local Mercedes dealer can tell you what exactly is invlolved in the C Maintenance for a 2006 E Class.

Bring up the FSS and check what service items are listed for the "C" service. The "C" only means that approx 3 hrs are required to perform the service. If the car is still under warranty, I believe the oil & filter will be free and the rest of the stuff will cost. Here's some instructions (PDF format).

Hope this helps (remember to rate this answer and leave some testimonial about this free answer).

Red light on maintenance required is on, what would that mean. Oil has been changed recently, approximately 45,000 miles on the car

the maintenance schedule is in the owners manual on the last 2 pages I believe, But here are some of the things to check the maintenance schedule on that car calls for oil changes every 3,750 miles if you primarily use the car around town or 7,500 if you do mostly highway driving without stop and go traffic. Most cars should go by the 3,750 schedule.

tire rotations should be every 7,500 miles. Brakes should be checked when the tires are rotated.

the major service on the 4 cylinder is every 30,000 miles. that includes the tune-up items of replacing spark plugs, adjusting the valves, replacing the air filter, transmission fluid, interior cabin filter and the inspections and adjustments.

the 6 cylinder does not need the valve adjustment or spark plug replacement until 105,000 miles. otherwise, the fluids and filter replacements are every 30k.

the timing belt on both the 4 cyl and the 6 cyl is 105,000. at that time the water pump and coolant are also replaced as well as the other accessory drive belts.

Brake fluid should be replaced every 3 years or 45,000 miles.

How to tune up 2008 toyota rav 4

As the cars technology advances, the term tune up is fading and replacing with term Scheduled Maintenance Service. For most of the cars the time for these maintenance service is at 30K, 60K and 90K. You have to choices:
Service your car by yourself, or send to a dealer. Because maintenance services might be as basic as an oil change, air filter replacement, or more complicated as brake job, coolant system flush, brake fluid flush, transmission oil and filter change, and finally as complicated as, timing belt/chain replacement, if you decide to service by yourself, I recommend to Haynes Repair Manual, Specific for your car.
For your car Toyota provides all Scheduled Maintenance Services according to the miles on your car at:
http://smg.toyotapartsandservice.com/
The answer for your question based on Toyota blog is:

Replace engine oil and oil filter
Rotate tires
Visually inspect brake linings/drums and brake pads/discs
Additional Maintenance Items for Special Operating Conditions:

Driving While Towing
Tighten nuts and bolts on chassis
Driving on Dirt Roads or Dusty Roads
Inspect ball joints and dust covers
Inspect drive shaft boots
Inspect engine air filter
Inspect steering linkage and boots
Re-torque drive shaft bolt (4WD)
Tighten nuts and bolts on chassis

Applicable Footnotes:
1) Reset the oil replacement reminder light ("MAINT REQD") or the message "OIL MAINTENANCE REQUIRED" on the multi-information display after engine oil replacement.

What does perform service message mean?

This is a oil change reminder. Nothing fancy about, when you get your oil change go into the menu and click reset counter and it will go off. If there was something wrong with your car the check engine light would come on.

The maintenance schedule is an outline and should be followed if you want to keep your vehicle in good condition. the maintenance items listed in the schedule are performed at their set intervals for a reason. Manufacturers have found the wear limits on certain parts and those parts may need to be serviced or replaced at those intervals or catastrophic failures may result.

Service Code

The maintenance service indicator shows the maintenance service type (letters A-H) in the multifunction display. This service type is only to give the customer an approximate time required to perform the required maintenance ranging from approximately one hour for Service A to approximately eight hours for Service H.

To determine the actual service items required, you must call up the service item menu in the multifunction display. Refer to instruction below.

Calling up the maintenance service data information

The maintenance service indicator shows the maintenance service type (letters A-H) in the multifunction display approximately one month before the service appointment is due in miles (distance criterion) or in days (time criterion).

This maintenance service type is based on the service items to be carried out. The service items are described in the Maintenance Booklet.

The service items to be carried out under the corresponding service type can be displayed in the multifunction display example Service "D" on my 2005 E320 4MATIC at 12,000 miles.
