MHC-MG510AV...Power Failure... I have seen and read most of the other reviews on here...i wanted to try and fix the problem myself...but i doubt that will happen...as mentioned, my system is broken...twice it reacted this way in about two weeks...the screen was jammed and frozen...and nothing worked..I unplugged and plugged back into the wall and both times it rebooted, the final time the power light is on and red...but no screen "demo" appears and nothing works...i'm looking for directions to fix it...or somewhere locally to fix it..or determining whether its worth my time too fix...its been a great stereo but it might be out-dated. Who should i seek advice from locally that wont charge me a "butt-load" to fix the stereo??? Any suggestions comments, continuations...please get back to me...Thanks All!! [email protected]

Fuse keep blowing after crossing speaker wires.

Fuses blow when there is an overload. In your case when you crossed the speaker wires you shorted the main amp. This now has a part that is acting just like a strand of wire.
Trace back the channel you crossed the wires and find the main output device(s). Then replace them. They will be located on a heat sink if that helps.

My MHC-GX450 worked fine for several years. I just went on vacation for two weeks and before I left, I unplugged it so lightning would not cause power surge damage. When I came home and powered up, it...

After calling SONY support, they wanted me to send the entire system - speakers, cables... Please! That's is dumb, and the rep had to be reading it from a script.

So I managed to get the covers off and figured it out on my own. The drive belt for the CD tray had come off the pulleys. I simply put it back on and... Voila! Saved myself hundreds of dollars for a $2 belt. I called SONY and ordered two spares. Sometimes, if you have some mechanical and basic electrical skills you can save yourself a lot of money and aggravation.

Hi, i own a kenmore elite speedcook oven model 363.63692301, ever since my wife used the convection speedcook oven and had the heat setting set to the maximum temp of 450 degrees which the oven should...

I have had issues with my Kenmore Elite conv oven too. I have had several service calls and found out that the TCU (thermal cooling unit) sensor was not working. This allows the oven to cool down so it doesnt overheat the sensors in the display. I actually had to have the oven replaced after 4 months of use. I am currently waiting for a technician to review the replacement oven for the same issue. I spent $7k on all new Elite appliances and will never purchase Kenmore appliances again. Good luck

Sony mhc-gx450 cd player is not reading.I used a cd cleaner and d

First unplug the unit and press the power button to make sure all the power is out of the unit. Try to take a cotton qtip and clean the lazer lense with alcohol. after wipe it clean with a new cotton qtip to remove the film the alcohol produces. Do not use a lot of alcohol and drip it all inside of the unit though.
Also if you tried a cd-r try a real copy instead. Make sure your cd's are ok.
Good luck.

I want to unlock my nokia phone myself

Are you talking about the PUK? If so, please review this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PUK_code

Then call your service provider.

Failure to read and follow the guidance in the reference may render your phone useless.

Sony Mhc GS100 want power up

The unit is in protect mode because a problem was deteected in the final output stage of the amplifier. The pop in the speakers is a god indication that there is DC current in the output stage. This is not a good thing. This is a relatively common failure of all receivers and can easily be fixed by any shop that does audio repair. Expect a parts cost in teh $30-$40 range.

Zenith dvd/vcr mod #6711R1N211C. Need to prog the volume button.

In my manual, to control a sony TV.. the code is number 8 or number 9.

You will hold down TV POWER, hit 8 then release TV POWER.
If that doesn't work, try number 9. Once the batteries are removed, it resets the code, so write it down. It will also over ride your old codes once you input the new one.

Note: Depending on your TV, some or all buttons may not function on the TV, even after entering the correct manufacturer code.

I looked for the section on Stereo, but all I found was the above.
Hope this helps.
