SOURCE: leaking and then it stoped working

You may want to buy one with a 6 or 10 year warranty. If you have a ISE Pro install it you will get another 2 years warranty on the 6 yr model. That is 8 year of in-home, 100% parts and labor warranty.

SOURCE: insinkerator

The capacitor is probably bad, that's what makes it start to rotate. It's under the metal case on the side of the motor. Pull it off and take it to a motor to to replace.

The reset button pops when the GD is stuck. Do you know where the allen wrench is that came with it? If not, you need one. This goes directly in the bottom of the GD....turn it clockwise and counter clockwise to free the blades. Hit the reset and turn it on. Good luck

I have a emerson insinkerator that has nothing working checked breaker and reset button??no power??

First check that you have voltage at the outlet and that the switch is working. There is a reset button on the bottom of the unit - have you tried to reset that? If not, try it! If that doesn't do it, unplug your unit and use an allen wrench to rotate the motor (CW), if it won't turn then you either have something like a bone or spoon wedged in it or the motor is bad. If the motot is bad it is cheaper to replace than to repair.

Where is the reset button on the garbage disposal

underneath unit, red button. Also you should have a wrench that came with unit, it goes in hole under unit in center, you need to turn, to make sure nothing is stuck in unit.

No motor noise. Tried reset button; motor noise for a few seconds then nothing

First, with the switch OFF, take the allen wrench that should be with it and stick it into the bottom and center of the disposal. Turn it some left and right to free up anything that might be causing it to seize. Then make sure the motor is reset and try again. If that fails to fix it then it is time for a new one.

Garbage disposal will not go on. Breaker is on, reset has been tried.

Yes. It is possible. Is the push button in with this switch box? Because the push button could be bad.
