my battery holds a charge for about 5 minutes even if i have it plugged in for hours.

No kidding - it SHOULD charge when plugged in. It doesn't - thats the problem.

First, check that the camera switch is in the off (charging) position.
If this is OK, Check the battery output connections for voltage: use a multimeter.
To check the charger, put a load resistor across the output terminals (about 1000 ti 2000 ohms) and again, using a multimeter, check there is a charging voltage. Alternatively, if the camera operates OK with the charger attached and switched on the charger is OK, AND, the problem is then in the charging circuit from camera to battery. If the battery checks OK as in the beginning, then you will need a Sony repair man who needs to know all the results from your testing above.

Jazzy 1170 2002 dont know if batteries r charging led 3 red 3green plug unit in overnight 13 plus hrs been charging using 12 volt battery charger 13 volt reading per battery unsure on board battery

Should use proper 24 volt 2-4 amp off-board charger. A 3 red, 3 green flash code on a VSI/Remote Plus controller indicates high battery voltage.

Attempt a hard reboot of the device by holding the home button and the power button at the same time. Contact AppleCare if the problem persists. Also, don't use the iPad's charger on the iPod or an iPhone. It doesn't play well with it.

Battery does not work more than 4hrs even i do not use multimedia files too.....

If a recharable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

I have not used it for a long time. Now it will not switch on

HI, have you tried charging it for at least 2 hours if the battery has gone totally flat then it wont switch on until has been charged for at least a couple of hours.

if it is charged and you have charged it up and its shows you its charging then try removing the battery for few minutes then put it back in and give it a try, if after doing this it still dont work then the problem could be the on/off button or it could have got damp or knocked about.

let me know what you have done so far and let me know if it shows you it is charging, if it dont then the chances are the battery has got bad cells and this is causing it not to hold a charge and if this is the case then your going to need to get a new battery.

Charging battery

Take it back to the store get your money back and then go out and get a real camera. The m853 is a piece of junk. I had the same / similar problems and Kodak is clueless about the problem.

My phone dosent turn on or nothinq

When the battery is totally depleted, you will need to use a charger that came with the phone. Sometimes it will take a few mintues (give it 10) for the battery/charging circuit to come on.

Sometimes you can charge from other sources than the charger that came with the phone. You generally will need enough charge on the battery to start the phone.

Example: If I have enough battery to where the boots and turns off, I can generally get it to charge from USB or my car adapter. You will need to get the phone to turn on and boot most of the way up before it will take a low current charge. If my phone is so dead it will not even turn on, I must plug it into the AC adapter. Sometimes even then the light does not turn on right away.

The problem is probably due to the number of amps provided by the charger. When the battery is totally dead, the charging circuit is drawing so many amps that it will prevent low amp chargers from being able to do the job. That's why these phones have such heavy duty AC adapters.
