The protection function is activated when the speaker wire has a short-circuit or touches the chassis of the vehicle. Wire or insulate the speaker cable properly and press the reset button. (The reset button is that little pinhole button below and to the right of the volume control). If you do this and the "PROTECT" code doesn't disappear, you'll have to consult a service center. Further, if you had this professionally installed, they should be obligated to fix the issue for you (hopefully).

SOURCE: How do i set the clock

If I remeber correctly, I did a bunch of these at the shop and you need to be in standby mode. Hold the menu button. a new menu will come up and you should be able to set the clock there also if you like the annoying beeps that it does you can also turn that off. And while you are at it turn off the DEMO mode unless you like it. I hope I could help.

SOURCE: Kenwood KDC-3028 unlock code

TY TY TY..fixed this right on up. Only suggestion I could make is that a diagram of where the aforementioned buttons are. I did mine at night so the small words were hard to see. I just replaced my battery and cleaned off the cables connectors when this problem occurred. TY so much for this.

SOURCE: Wiring for a kenwood kdc 1020 cd player

if you have the wire connector it's easy.....give the negative conection to the body of the player..find the wire from the battery with has the power supply even when the switch is off..and connect it to the yellow wire.that is for the memory...find the wire which has the power when the switch is on ,and connect it to the red wire from the player....what i mean by switch is the ignition switch... u can easily find the speaker connections...most speaker wires comes as blue,ash,green,white...there are two wires from each colour......

Sounds like you might have a bad connection where the faceplate connects to the unit, or the faceplate is bad.

My manuel says : Protect: The speaker wire has a short-circuit or touches the chassis of the vehicle, and then the protection function is activated. Wire or insulate the speaker cable properly and press the reset button. I had the same problem with my stereo, but I took it to Geek Squad cause I still have warranty on it.

Ok I had the kenwood KDC-MP235 installed and...

The front aux input is only capable of accepting audio signals and definitely won't display any track tags.

If you have an iPod, I think with the KCA-iP500 adapter it will display song info on the front as well as allow control from the Kenwood's controls.

As far as the song info on a CD - it should display if you've got a CD with CDTEXT info on it, or if you're playing an MP3/WMA CD. Most regular audio CDs won't be able to display song info.
