This morning when I turned it after charging it for 6 hours it immediately turned off again. WHen I got to work it was playing just fine and then the album finished and it went idle and turned off and now it wont start. I didnt do anything to it just played an album or two and now I got nothing. What should I do?? I dont want to reset it because all my music is saved on it. I dont want to have to sit there again and reload it all. HELP!!
It could be your battery or the charger itself. you may want to try another charger for it, or get a new battery. i don't think it is a worse problelm.

Connect the player to a USB port on the back of a desktop PC..
Check the display for the charging icon .
As the display times out after a few seconds, press any button on the player to reactivate the display.
If the battery is fully depleted, the charging icon may not be displayed. Cup the player in your hands to check that the blue power LED behind the Play/Pause and Options buttons is blinking on and off repeatedly. This indicates that the player is successfully charging. After 1 hour of charging, power on the unit to activate the display. The charging icon should be displayed.
Allow the player to charge for at least 6 hours. During this time, if charging from a USB port, please ensure your PC does not enter a power conservation mode (Standby, Sleep, or Hibernate) as this will interrupt charging.
If the player does not indicate a charge, or will not power on after at least 6 hours of charging, please contact Customer Support.
You might try updating your ZEN V or ZEN V Plus firmwareto take advantage of new features and functionality.

(1) Hit the reset button for 5 seconds.
(2) Hit the reset button, slide down the on/off slide, and have it
plugged into the computer at the same time. Hold for 5 seconds.
(3) Hit the reset button again.
(4) Charge it for at least 10 hours in the port in the BACK of your computer.
(5) After 10 hours, unplug the player and press the + volume button.
While still holding it, plug the player back in. Keep holding it for
5-50 seconds. (most likely nothing will pop up).
(6) Let the player sit UNPLUGGED for a good 3 hours.
(7) Plug the player back in (it should light up now). Let it charge the
usual time it takes to charge for an empty battery, about 6 hours.

sounds like it might be either a bad firmware driver, which can be erased and reinstalled via the USB connection to your computer and a download from creative. Or the battery has gone bad, in which case you have to have it sent to creative for Repair.
This solved the problem:
I plugged the ZEN out from the PC and pressed the reset-button, then pressed the play-button while turning it on again. when the creative logo appeared on the screen I released the play-button and a recovery-meny appeared. I used the clean-mode, which fixed the problem.
i had the same problem. i asked creative labs and they said my battery was depleated. they said to plug it in and leave it for 6 hours, so i did tho i didnt think it would work cuz there wasnt any sign that it was charging at all but, i came back 6 hours later and it worked.
I have the same problem .. But i found a trick ...When you have a blank screen. 1 you must listen music else press play until you listen it 2. flip the switch on the side to lock position 3. press on buttom the next tune 1-2 seconds 4. you will have a black screen ( you listen the music again) 5. flip the switch on the side to normal position. 6 the screen appear ok now..
7. else repeat ( most time once is ok but sometimes 2 or 3 times)
