I guess I need to take it to a service guy. There is no one in my area and the one guy called and said he could look at it july 19th and that is to long.

I don't understand there is no red light flashing and the bulb light is not on.

I ordered a service manual but it has not come in yet. I found a local guy who told me to bring it in and he will look at it. It is to big for him to pick up. Thanks for your suggestions but I think it must be electrical and need a tech to look at it

Randy it's the lamp! The Wega uses Xl-2200 lamp in a full housing assembly, Sony p/n#A-1085-447-A They're not cheap. When the lamp nears it's end of life period the picture can look a bit dim, cycle on/off and eventually fail completely. To get at the lamp merely remove the two thumb tight screws behind left and right sides of the lower panel. Panel snaps off then.. Next remove the lamp housing cover, another thumb tight screw. The new lamp will come with an allen wrench to remove and re-install the new light housing ... :) If you have any questions let me know. Bill

This problem is most likely the bulb, the bulb socket or the bulb power supply circuit. You will need to try the easy things first, like try resetting the bulb in the socket, then you will need to replace the bulb, then if you have no TV repair experience, you will need to have the set serviced by an authorized repair shop.Good Luck

The best way to replace the lamp in this unit would be to go to page 16 of the owners manual. it will explain in detail how to do this. If you do not have the owners manual, I found you a free download of this owners manual. Go here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-d...
    Good Luck with this.

Like I said, if you replace the bulb, and that did not fix the problem, you have a lamp power supply problem.

I told you that the lamp power supply was bad if you tied the bulb. Tyhe lamp power supply is the Ballast circuit.

Lg 42 no power

If its dead and no sound what so ever its usually the power board and if so you can usually get replacement boards by contacting the people over at
www.tvrepairworld.com if its not listed they most likely still have it and you can check by hitting the contact us button on their website and letting them know your model number and symptoms and a tech for your model will respond quickly to your problem for free as long as you include your model number and symptoms of the set.

No sound when disc is in DVD player. Only picture.

The sound board is out in the dvd player. Try another source, such as cable, and/or a gaming system if the tv gets sound it is for sure the sound board on the dvd player. Always check to make sure the dvd player doesn't have a mute option.

Tv suddenly shows no audio and no video for digital channles only yet all digital channles are detected durring the channel search

Sounds like you have a bad signal from the antenna or the cable. Unlike analog TV if the signal level drops below a certain level you loose the picture and sound completely. The fact that digital channels are detected during channel search does not mean they have a good signal. Try moving the antenna about.

No sound

Hi, Probably you first have to determine if the "no sound" is the TV or your source (cable box). Try another source such as a DVD player hooked to the audio/video inputs of the TV, if still no sound then you have confirmed that it is the TV, if there is sound, then it is the cable box (in some cases it may be just the cables connecting the cable box and the TV; try wiggling it a bit, might just be loose). If it is the TV, go through the routine of the setup/menu; look for audio, stereo, SAP, etc, try different settings (pls log down original setting in case no change and you have to revert back). If all else fails, try the "thump test" this will help you determine if its a loose/cold solder problem inside the TV. Give your TV a good whack at the side, top or back, if sounds comes on even briefly, it's a loose/cold solder problem, if not then you probably have to have the unit serviced by a qualified professional. Good luck and kind regards.
