Battery won't charge

I'm having problems with the Motorola K1 phone. I just bought it and it worked ok at the start, I charged the battery and everything was working. When the battery ran out I tried to charge it, but the phone started flashing white screen periodically when I connected the charger. Any ideas why this is happening and how to get around it?

    I have the same problem,
but i purchased by phone via Net 10

any ideas how i can determine if it's the battery
or a problem with the phone.

    i've switched chargers with a friend's...
however, the battery still will only be charged for 30 seconds.

any help would be greatly appreciated

Scratch that last message. You just said it wasn't charging. Take it to your serivice provider (i.e. Verizon store) Have them put it on their charger. They'll let you know if its the battery or the charger.

SOURCE: motorola k1 boost unlimited phone Unable to charge

Check the contacts between phone and battery, if necessary align or clean. Are you using original Motorola charger? This solved my problem; I was trying to charge it with one of those "universal" chargers.

Hope this helps!

My MOTOKRZR K1 battery/phone will not stay charged very long.

Let ur phone completely die. Don't charge it or anything when the low battery notice comes on. After it completely dies, put it on the charger only until it says charge complete. U might have to do it a few times to get ur battery performing as it should. If you charge ur battery too often, it causes ur battery to swell (weird I know) and your battery starts resisting charge. Hope this helps!! (I used to have the same phone and the same problem. I did this, and now my mom is using the phone and has an exceptional battery time)

Damaged connector

The K1 is not an easy one to take apart compared to others. I would not recommend it. Plus once it is taken apart you lose the seal. I rarely charge my K1 using my phone. I purchased a unit for under $10 to charge my batteries on. I like to have an extra battery for my cell so I am never without service while it charges.
It will cost you more to get the piece replaced on your K1 than it would to get a seperate charger for a battery. If you need help let me know. I will help you locate a charger if needed.

Blank or White screen on new Motorola Krzr k1 cell phone

If the phone still works, check to see if the left side of the hinge (when the phone is open and facing you) is loose. If you can wiggle the top 1/2 of the phone, the hinge is damaged, therefore damaging the flex cable that runs through it. If that is the case, replace the hinge assembly and the flex and you're good.

The K1 is no joke to take apart. Flex replacement requires full disassembly. I would recommend checking out www.wirelessunlimitedinc.com, or www.myspace.com/wirelessunlimited to have it done professionally, less than Motorola will charge you.

Or give it a shot if you want, you need a T5 Torx and lots of patience and care.

K1 Problem Charging Battery

sounds like the battery to me. there is a chance it is the phone. Check on your warranty and see about a battery replacement first. Its much more likely.

What to do w/ my motorola k1 software problem?

try charging up your phone (also verify your battery is not going bad) then reattempt, some programs will not even allow you to update certain portions of the phones software unless your battery is at a sufficient charge.....it very well may be just a battery replacement issue
