I can't get Lorex VistaPro4 QLR0440 working on my XP

I have a Dell Dimension 2400 with Windows XP. I tried to install the QLR0440 Video Capture card but keep getting error messages such as "EZXDVRBX Server 1.0 Device Initialization Failed" > "Cannot start video server" > Cannot start search server, and "This device cannot start Code 10" The driver download does not seem to work and says it is a Vista type.

On the driver installation instructions it says "Note: XP users will get the following message: "The software you are installing for this hardware WJ430 V capture device ver 3.0 has not passed windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP". This message will occur twice. Simply click continue anyway and complete the installation. -Craig

If you are using a Dell Dimension 2400 with Windows XP in a single workstation enviorment, the drivers and software on this link are compatible.
    http://lorexstore.lorextechnology.com/pr...

they are not if you are trying to install in a server/ client enviorment or on a domain controller.

the other advise is that most Dell 2400 workstaions only came with 256MB DDR Memory , and the new driver set Requires a MIN 512MB Memory , and you should double that to 1 GB DDR for the system to run properly. also the built in video on your system ( Most Dell 2400's Came with 32/64MB OnBoard Video) may not have enough Mem. you will probably need to add a PCI Video Card to you system 128MB/256 MB Card

Make sure you uninstall all software & Drivers before trying to install the new drivers & Software

I had the same problem for a while till I figured out how to fix it.

go into:
start -> control panel -> system -> hardware -> device manager
in device manager go down to the "sound, video, and game controllers"

in my system there was another set of audio and video capture drivers installed ("kworldb878 audio capture" or something)

go into those, and update driver; instead of letting it search, choose the driver from the list. (lexor is the manufacturer) and then install the lexor drivers, and that fixed it for me :)

After a virus infected my Dell dimension 2350 (XP), I replaced the hard drive with one running Windows 7. After increasing my RAM, I still have some serious resolution problems on my Samsung 172N moni

Hey Tim,.
Once you installed Windows 7 onto the hard drive you would need to have installed the drivers. The one driver that is needed for resolution is the video card. You can right click on the desktop and then choose screen ressolution to see if you can change the resolution. Unfortunately, Dell does not have any Windows 7 drivers for the Dimension 2350 system.

Thank You,

Does a 1gb nvidia 9500gt work on a dell dimension 2400

The big question is whether the 2400 has a PCI Express slot. It does not. The 9500GT is a PCI Express 2.0 x16 card

Reinstalled Windows XP on an old computer (DELL Dimension 2400) and the monitor won't display above basic resolution. Downloaded and reinstalled the monitor driver and still no good. Opened up START

According to the Dell Support web site the Dell Dimension 2400 has a built in Intel 3D extreme graphics adapter, assuming you are using this and not a PCI graphics card.

Go to the Intel Download Centre and run their Intel Driver Update Utility which will automatically scan your system for updated drivers for any installed or integrated Intel devices.

If the Intel Utility identifies an updated driver for your graphics adapter then download and install that which should enable you to configure a higher resolution for your display.

Hi there, On your laptop that can get on the internet, go to www.dell.com/support and download drivers for your Network Card and your Video Card from that site. Make sure you put in the right model number (dimension 2400). Transfer them to a USB key, and move the USB key to your desktop. Install those drivers and everything work will again. You may need to install additional ones as you see other things not working (like audio). If you need more help, let me know. -Alex

I have a dell dimension 2400 it has no video i tried to put a pci video card in and still did not work but pci video card is good

You probably need a driver for the video card. There should be a driver CD included in the box with the video card. Be sure to read the instructions on how to install the card.

Dell Dimension 5100 won't start with new FireMV 2400 PCI Express video card

Did you check to make sure the video card is installed in the right spot? Has the onboard video card been disabled in Windows - and when you say it will not boot, do you mean physically no POST. Do you get any error codes? If you can get into the CMOS (Bios) Setup screen - change the primary display adapter from the onboard to AGP, PCI, or PCI-E depending on which card that is. Use this information at your own risk - hope it helps.
