Microwave does not heat

Our microwave is just 2 years old, a built in model. The timer counts down, the light comes on and the turntable turns but there is a raspy sound and the food does not get heated. We had just fixed a door problem 6 months back.

Same problem. Had the microwave make a really loud buzzing noise when it wasn't even operated. Wife opened it up and noise went off. After that I tried using it, light was on, timer counted down, plate rotatted, and it made the loud buzzing noise but it did not heat. It apeared the noise was coming from behind the plastic cover but couldn't get it off.

Did either of you have it fixed? What was wrong? How much did it cost???

I have the exact same problem, only this is the second time in 2 years! Whirlpool will not do anything and A&E service company (it was under warranty the first time this happened) charged Whirlpool $478 for parts and labor. Now it is not under warranty and I don' tknow what to do. Help! I smelled burning plastic this time and then it quit heating. Turntable works, lights come on, but it doesn't heat. A&E replaced the tranformer, mangetron and wire valve last time. They're coming out tomorrow to look at it. I'm really ticked I'm having to pay for a recurring problem. If it's $478 agian I'll go buy a new one --- NOT WHIRLPOOL ;)

Just had the same experience with the identical model. Removed the cover (a challenge because of the security screws), revealing valuable troubleshooting directions intended for an experienced technician. However, I think the info is well within the reach of a typical DIY person, does not require any dangerous power-on conditions. However, make sure that you discharge the HV capacitor before trouble shooting. In my case, it appears that the HV diode is open, have ordered a replacement on the internet for $3.18, easy to replace. Hope it works. Good luck.

If you don't have electronic experience is to dangerus, you will needs a Technician to chek: If 110 volts sypplying the big transformer, if yes check the output of this transformer, if have high voltage the transformer is good, then have to check: Magnetron, high vontage diode and big capacitor. I'm sorry this is not easy to no experience person. I'm sorrry for my English not so good. I hop you solver ou problem.

Microwave timer works but will motor will not run/cook.

If everything works on the unit, but you do not receive any heat or possibly the turntable does not turn you have a faulty magnetron (controls heat) and a faulty motor (controls turntable). You would require service on the unit, if parts are available. Some microwaves are so small in cubic foot size, that manufacturer's do not have parts available for purchase/repairs.

Mbbs 01 thermador micro oven: timer counts down, lights go on, but no heat, no fan and turntable does not turn. is it a fuse?

Key clue is table does not move---All microwaves with a table have a lever switch that is engaged when door closes--only can get at from inside the unit----it prevents the unit from operation if door not closed.

What happens from closing door a lot is the switch with a lever arm can come loose or even if snapped into a plastic holder break out of the holder.

IF this it is not too expensive a repair.

The timer counts down but the microwave doesnt turn on.

I have a FNCB115GC Microwave problem. The microwave has a icon on the left hand side of the panel that looks like a opened book on a stand with lines on top. This is best that I can descibe it. The microwave turntable does not move or the microwave does to come on but the light comes on and the timer will count down. I have cleared the microwave and unplugged it with no results. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Dacor dcm24s.light, fan, and control panel work but turntable and heat do not

Most likely the bottom door switch. Dacor units are built by Sharp and that switch is a very common problem. You'd either need to check the switch with an ohm meter or remove the cover of the switch to see if it's burned inside.
