I have a Pioneer KEH-P6600 connected to a Pioneer CDX-620S multi-CD changer. While playing CDs, it stopped playing and the display shows "error-11". I reset the microprocessor on the head unit but it changed nothing.
Are you able to tell me what this "error-11" indicates and possibly how to remedy it?
Thank you,
Dink
The first thing that I tried was looking up the error in the manual. None are listed. The second thing that I did was trying an Internet search for Pioneer error codes.
I finally had the time to investigate deeper. I could tell that the CD change was getting power because it would eject the multi-disc cartridge. I could hear it changing switching between slots to check for CDs....but something just seemed to be missing.
I pulled the cover off the changer and plugged all the connections back in. When I inserted the cartridge I could see that the CDs weren't spinning up, they were trying, but they weren't. I could get them going by giving the disc a little bump start though.
What I did was I hosed down a video-head cleaning pad with video-head cleaner and ever so slightly roughed up the two felt friction pads that the player motor grabs the CDs with to spin the discs.
I don't know if this what was wrong, but the changer is working once again. It wouldn't surprise me if either the felt pads were getting smoothed out and there wasn't enough friction to spin the discs or the motor is on it's way out, it has been set to a multi-disc, random setting for nearly ten years and the vehicle has spent most of it's life on mountain roads....soThe first thing that I tried was looking up the error in the manual. It relates to the failure of the loading section. So check on the linking wires/flexible strip to the load motor- this is a ccommon fault and is seen most of the time.
Secondly the tray with CD can get strck due to a faulty disc- being warped. if so manually retrieve and reset.
finally there is a tiny hole near to the eject which can reset the changer if this has hung up or is jammed.
Open the covers and probe.
manual should have a list of error codes ,pioneers pretty ok like that , u can call them direct , meantime make sure disc is clean ,try store bought disc , not burned ones , sounds like a mechanical faliure , if unit was recently shipped to you , it may have required "transport "screws . disc tray may have slid into playing area inside unit .
have you tried using another computer to burn them as some of the latest updates will give u this problem if not there are probably some compatability issues
