Ive had a black ipod video, 60 GB and first generation for about a year and its been working fine, until today when i turned it on and the screen wasnt working. The Backlight still works but it just shows a blank white screen. I can still play music but cant see the menu. Ive tried rebooting the ipod several times by holding menu and the center button when it reboots, it shows a bunck of grainy lines going vertical and horizontal. And after i leave the ipod off for a while w/out rebooting the screen works fine and i can see the menu so i dont think the screens broken.
any ideas on what i should do?
Thanks a lot

then go to the itunes and it will works 100%
thats what happened to me today:D
i have two sets of instructions for the ipod nano 1gb first generation(white with shiny metal back and black with shiny metal black, small screen, no video play back) i will sell it to you if you want one.
If you have the Nano with the smaller screen measuring 1" x 1.25" and got it 3 years ago, you most likely have the 2nd generation. Apple doesn't really have cases on their site for the older nano. I have the same one and purchased my case at Target. They have a good selection of 3rd party (non-Apple branded) cases. You can also check an Apple store if you have one close by.
Hope this was helpful.
Have a great day
The newer generation iPods don't always work with the iPod connection kits in a lot of the car stereos. Some of the problem is due to the fact that the new generation iPods have been changed and the stereos were manufactured before the players were released so they are not compatible. I bought my girlfriend a Pioneer car stereo with an iPod control cable, and it works fine with her Nano (not the new generation Nano) and it works with my iPod Photo 60 GB but it does not work with my iPhone 2G and I read that it is not compatible with the new Nanos or the Classics. Check with Jensen to see if the model you have is compatible with the Classic and see if there is a solution to the issue. It may not be compatible with the new video portion of the Classic firmware.
