Question about Rotel Rsx-1056 Receiver

Hello I have a rotel RSX 1056 witch I used once six years ago for two months . I lhavent used it since then , and now I decided to hook it back up and I have no audio . It turns on but when I set a radio station to listen to I get nothing. This unit is brand new only used for two months can anybody help

If you stored it in an area with high moisture content it is probably corroded at most of the contact switches. Capacitors also hate moisture, especially paper capacitors! The tuner is also probably oxidized inside. Now is the time to be brave and pull it apart, but first PULL OUT THE PLUG from the wall. Have at it with electric parts cleaner spray and clean, dry compressed air. If you believe that just because you stored it in your house, there was no moisture, think again! Radios like cars do not do well in storage unless you take precautions to protect them!

Try fixing your remote controller, because sometimes when we neglected to replace our remote batteries for a while, it will leak and it will build up on the contacts of the remote pad.

Take off the battery, open the back of your remote, lift the circuit board, clean the green painted part with cotton balls slightly damp with rubbing alcohol as well as the black thingy behind your remote pad, let it dry put it back together, replace with a new battery and try if it works.

I have an old surround sound reciver ROTEL RSX-1067 Mabee 20-30-40 years old : one day it just shuts down, just like that.
Several possibilities come to mind. First shorted connections to speaker wires. Faults in the power supply. Sometimes if the unit has not been working for a while the large capacitors in the power supply can dry up.
An overload on a power transistors.

Rotel rsx 1065 switches on. every single thing is lit up in the display panel on receiver. But unable to select anything and of course no sound. what could be wrong?
Probably the EEPROM, the heart and brain of the appliance.
I had the same issue with my AIWA, could not figure out the cause, took it in, tech told me EEPROM is blown.
Not economical to repair.

My Rotel RSX-972 surround sound receiver has no power, the repair centre cannot isolate the problem and they do not have a service manual to guide them,a service manual would be handy??
Unless yuo can find a Rotel authorized service center, you are not likely to find any service information. These units should not be difficult to repair. Their designs are pretty much standard with a few twists. Any shop that handles audio repair should be able to resolve this. If not, please post your location and I'll try to locate a shop for you.

Also, are there any indications that the unit is trying to work at all or is it completely dead?

Rotel 1056 - Turns On and Off I've had my Rotel since about 2005 and just the other day the Rotel stopped working. The standby light is illuminated and when I turn it on (remote or receiver) it clicks, turns off and goes back to standby. Rotel RSX-1056 AV Surround Receiver I have a Rotel RSX-1056 Surround receiver. Periodically the unit sound turns itself off but still have power to the system. The display remains illuminated. I need to depress the power switch and turn the unit off. I wait about 5-10 seconds then power the receiver back on and everything works fine. This sounds to be a board or chip issue and wonder if it can be fixed.

What's your problem?Hello, I am tthe owner of a Rotel RSX1056 and I am living in Holland. So excuses when my english is not that good. I have had many good years with this receiver, but now I have a problem with the optical input. When I connected my cable receiver from Humax to the optical input it did not work. When I pulled the cable out a little bit, signal was coming in and it played normal. When I zap to another channel on the cable receiver signal is lost again. Then I only get sound again, when I pull the cable again Bey the way, my blue ray player does not have any problem on optical. Further I tried the cable receiver on a other HT-receiver and there it was properly working. I also checked my optical cable. Is there someone out there who resolved the same problem or knows what is the cause for this? Greetings Karel
