TV WONT COME ON

My Sylvania 32" tv does the same. Flash of vertical signal, then off. That solution from CompuGuy44 is like saying "that means it's broke". How about a real solution, anyone?

This is a fairly easy fix, but I recommend taking to a qualified service tech. Even with the TV off and unplugged you can still get seriously hurt.

1.Check the device's battery level for at least two bars of strength.
2.If the battery level is low, charge the battery.
3.If the issue is not resolved, remove the back cover.
4.Remove the battery.
5.Wait 10 seconds.
6.Press and hold the W key.
7.While pressing down the W key, re-insert the battery.
•The device restarts and after approximately 15 seconds, the 'Recovery' screen appears
•Release the power button but *continue holding the home button*, for another 30 seconds.

Unplug the set, press power and hold for 60 seconds, let it sit for 30 minutes and plug the TV back in, try to power on, if no change! the problem is power supply or high voltage issue.

The TV can be set up so that it can only be operated with

the remote control.

This feature can be used to prevent unauthorized viewing.

Press the MENU button on the remote

Try a reset:
  1. Turn on the television.
  2. On the TV remote control, press and hold either the RESET or UP ARROW button.
  3. While holding the RESET or UP ARROW button, press and release the POWER button on the front of the TV. NOTE: The TV will turn off and then back on.
  4. Release the RESET or UP ARROW button.
If that doesnt solve it, you will need a repair.

View timer keeps blinking..tv wont turn on.nobody set view timer..is there a reset button? tried to unplug but no luck
Mute + 1 + 8 + 2 + Power.

Your TV set should now say “Loading Factory”.

Browse down to “Option” then press Enter (or the right cursor button).

NOTE: The Mute+1+8+2 buttons need to be pressed down consecutively and fairly quickly. If your TV does not enter the service menu after using this combination, you can substitute MENU instead of MUTE. This seems to work for some sets. Also, the right cursor arrow also acts as the ENTER button, so try it if you’re having difficulty with the ENTER button.

To exit the service menu, hit press the EXIT button or just turn off your TV (remember not to turn on your TV immediately afterward!)

Hello,

About the only thing you can do is do a code search. If it doesn't show up then, the remote does not have it (as with most tv/dvd or tv/vcr combos).

Turn the TV on manually. Then, push the switch at the top to the far right (to the TV position). Simultaneously press and hold the MUTE and SELECT buttons until the TV light at the top flashes. Release the buttons, then press and release 9, 9, 1. The TV button should flash again.
Press and release the 1 button again, then press and release the TV POWER button. Press and release the Channel UP button about once a second until the TV turns itself off. Press and release the select button, and you should be good to go.

If after a while, the TV button starts flashing rapidly, then there are no more codes to search, and the remote does not have the code, and you are stuck using 2 remotes..

when picture is displayed on your tv after pressing menu,press the channel up/down button on the remote or tv. there can also be a button that shifts right to left. this may hilight the the settings you want to change. if the up/down button scrolled you thru the settings, then the right/left buttons should change the settings.

Universal Remote Codes Not Working I bought an RCA universal remote from Walmart and I tried all the codes and every which way but it will not work. Are there other codes? And where is the sensor on the tv as it states I should point it directly at it. Also, do I need to turn the tv off and the remote off after each time I try a new code? Lastly, I have a Sylvania tv but it is 6419TCA 19" TV does the A at the end matter? the picture looks exactly the same.
