Question about Hitachi 53UDX10B 53" Rear Projection Television
Hello, My 2002 TV has been working perfectly up until yesterday when it developed faint horizontal lines across the entire picture. I would estimate 3/4 to one inch apart. Very slight but visible enough to be annoying. I would greatly appreciate any help... All the best.. Mike
This is a pretty common fault here Mike. I cannot remember the capacitor number, but it is right off of the flyback transformer and supplies the screen voltage to the picture tube driver transistors. You will need to get a scematic and trace out and check the flyback secondary capacitors for leakage, I am sure you will have more then on or two capacitors that need to be replaced. One more thing with this TV set. Look right under where the picture tubes are on the printed circuit boards, for an indication of fluid leakage or an oily substance. If you see any evidence of this, turn off the TV set and unplug it and call out a tech to try and clean off these boards before any further damage happens. Good Luck
